Some of the worst college dorm food. Middle school and high school were better. Pictures speak for themselves. Only things that are comfortably edible are stuff that comes in premade. Be warned of the chicken nuggets, I had them before and they smelled like fish. 80% of the food is either disgusting meat clumps or completely undercooked, or both. How hard is it to make ground beef? How is it still pink inside? Unironically have had my taco meat still br undercooked. Brats are squishy and often pink inside still. Undercooked is tupically the theme of Sandburg Cafe, as most food here is to varying degrees. Fruit are typically awful and just unappealing. The few things I actually like are rarely offered. A lot of the time I just make my own food with the sandwich materials because of how unappealing everything is. Even then the sandwich press is rarely cleaned. They close down twice a day now as well for hours at a time so you often don't even get the option to eat, despite it being called "Anytime Dining"... Service is constantly rude, often get glares or unsavory looks despite doing nothing but asking for food. Some people are chill but it's just chance on who's serving you whether you have someone friendly or someone who's gonna sigh at you when you ask for guacamole. This is a $1,500 experience, not a $4,280 dollar experience. I don't have any option due to limited money to continue to eat here for the rest of the semester. If you have the option to not eat...
Read moreI am writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding an incident that occurred at the UWM dining hall during breakfast on 2/27/25 at 8:15 AM. Additionally, I have a video of the altercation. As a vegetarian student I opted for the fruits and grain due to religious reasons; I’m Muslim.
While I was selecting my food, one of the chefs took a video and picture of me without my consent. When I noticed this, I politely asked her “Yes?”, and she replied that she was taking a video and picture of me due to me grabbing fruits and vegetables, even mentioning the previous day of me grabbing grains to eat for breakfast. I explained to her that, according to the UWM dining policy, I am allowed to take as much food as I want since it's a buffet. I also mentioned that the amount of food I took was not excessive.
Despite this, the chef confronted me again, asking me to delete the video of our altercation. During this request, she also mentioned that she was from Africa and referred to herself as "a sister." I felt uncomfortable and disrespected by her behavior, and I'm concerned that her personal comment was unnecessary and unprofessional.
As a student who pays $4,380 for dining services, I expect to be treated with respect and dignity. Unfortunately, this is not my first experience with similar issues, and I am concerned about the recurring patterns...
Read moreGot a hotdog from the cafeteria and it was raw the first time. Filed a complaint on it a few minutes after close and they offered to make a new one but again, it was raw. Looked the exact same as the first one. This is disgusting and is a safety hazard. People shouldn’t have to pay thousands of dollars for a meal plan and get fed raw, disgusting food. I’d give it a -10/10 if I could. Also, the service here is terrible. The people who works here are so rude. Got a tray from the dining hall and they just snatched it back when I came back with it not caring if it was needed or...
