Very cozy cafe! We got in just before there was a rush of people. The staff was very pleasant and we were served delicous drinks and yummy bites. I throughly recommend The Championship bagel sandwhich. It was super tasty! The image I attached was of The Oshi bagel sandwhich which was also good, but if I had to go back for one it'd be The Championship. I also ordered a Winter Spice Latte with regular milk and my partner had the Cafe Miel with oat milk. Certain oat milks are not my fancy but I actually really enjoyed the taste of the latte my partner had. I learned that they use chobani oat milk which was new to me. They also serve fun flavored rishi teas as well if you're a tea person!

We were in the neighborhood, visiting some local gardens. Needed some refreshments and a bite to eat. This place had lots of great reviews so we stopped in. Right away we were greeted by a friendly and helpful server. (thanks Andy) I asked for a London Fog, and although they didn't have Earl Grey, we worked it out. Got several smoothies a bagel sandwich, and a couple of cheese scones. Everyone liked what they got. The seating area isn't large, but it's spacious. There were a bunch of other people there, but everyone was being respectful, quiet conversations, and no loud phones or TikTok video (what a relief). Definitely a place that we'd come back to.

From the moment you walk through their corner shop door, you feel like you've entered a familiar and comfortable place. The service and atmosphere are just what you want out of a local coffee shop. Andy and Anya were super friendly and conversive. And she makes a fantastic cortado! The Cream City Brick and the nods to the local hometown make you feel like you've entered something truly Milwaukee. The coffee is great; it's now one of my Go-Tos anytime I'm in the area. What a great discovery this morning! Apparently, it only took me 20 years to fnd it! Happy 20th!

I have been coming here pretty much every week I've lived in the Upper East Side neighborhood. Once you visit Roast, you'll understand why. It's just the perfect local coffee shop with amazing specialty lattes and equally amazing sandwiches. Not to mention the CINNAMON ROLLS (A personal favorite of mine, and get them heated up!).

As a college student, it's always pleasant to come in here and possibly see another UWM student I recognize and have a chat or just read or work on homework. The atmosphere is great, there are so many seating options, and the baristas are always super friendly. I make a point every semester to fit my weekly trip to roast in between classes because I get sad when I don't go for a week! (And I swear I'm not just addicted to caffeine)

Overall just great coffee shop with sandwiches and bakery items.

Everything being said, I would like to see less disposable things in use regularly like to go cups, tin foil, and to go bags (If I'm eating in the store, a small plate for my bagel and a latte cup would be preferred :)).

I do want to call attention to their discount for bringing your own cup however! Very appreciated.

To wrap this up, I will for sure continue to come here regularly as long as I live...

I used to frequent this coffee shop when I was doing my undergrad degree and masters at UWM (2018-2021). It is a great place to study with nice coffee and a good variety of breakfast sandwiches (as opposed to some cafes which simply have bakery goods). The GGOOLLDD is my personal favorite food item.

Today was the first time I’ve been here in 3-4 years as I was out of Wisconsin and the country for an extended period. What prompted me to write this review is that when the owner Ryan walked in, he immediately looked at me and recognized who I was.

To me, it’s the little things that differentiate a good place from a great place. The fact Ryan was able to recall who I was after years and came to say hello and ask how I’ve been speaks volumes to the kind of person he is and how he runs his business.

It’s people like this and places like this that I personally will go out of my way to support. I firmly believe you won’t be disappointed by...

I go to Roast 2-4 times a week. I love their coffee and the Radio Milwaukee bagel sandwich is the best bagel sandwich I have ever had. I order their Nitro Cold Brew and Radio Milwaukee every time I go, and as long as I live in Milwaukee I was frequent Roast 2-4 times a week. Also, the staff is super friendly and when I earned my free drink, I order a coffee and a smoothie (the smoothie is a couple dollars me) and they gave me the smoothie as the free drink. Not a lot of places I have frequented would have done that so it tells me that they are honest and not trying to squeeze out a couple more dollars just because they can. Count me impressed. Needless to say, it is 6:30am on a Saturday when I write this review, and you can bet I will be there when they open at 8am...
