Dancing Bear Chocolate — Restaurant in Minneapolis

I was looking for ice cream shops on Google and came across this highly rated chocolatier/gelato/dessert shop so we went and checked it out. One of the gentlemen greeted us as soon as we walked in and was very kind and told us about their offerings. He gave us a sample of their European style “sipping” hot chocolate which was so delicious and rich. We were there to get gelato which they don’t serve in the fall/winter, but they had pints and cups in the freezer for purchase. We got a cup of the chocolate hazelnut, which had chopped hazelnuts inside, and a cup of the tres leches, which was out of this world—it was so thick and delicious. I also got a double chocolate sourdough brownie to try later and it tasted like fudge. If you love chocolate and gelato, I highly recommend checking them out! Their goods are a bit on the pricier side, but worth it for the quality and for supporting a small business. I cant say enough wonderful things about Dancing Bear. I have been enjoying their treats since they opened and feel incredibly lucky to live within walking distance to them.

They have the best cake I have ever had. ever. Its not your typical cake-its a chocolate baked mousse that tastes like a chocolate cake with mousse and whipped cream. You must try it. Every single bite is perfection.

Today I stopped by and picked up a few of my favorite items and two new ones-ginger chocolate dipped cookies and Bear Paw Fudge Brownie.

The ginger chocolate dipped cookies had just finished setting-they were divine! the cookie was crisp and the chocolate was smooth and rich without being too sweet.

The brownie. oh my. Please try it. you will be oh so happy. a fudge center with slightly crisp outside and subtle cherries and chocolate throughout...so good. While some items are good, most are not worth the price. I had a really disrespectful encounter with the owner today despite purchasing his goods for years. He essentially kicked me and my friends out simply because I was on a phone call with my friend when I was asking what flavor of Izze Sparkling Water he wanted at checkout. Well, apparently that was rude, and the owner started shouting at us. The owner completely misconstrued the entire situation, talked down on us, shut us up, and yelled at us and kicked us out, likely because we're teenagers. We were paying customers, and we weren't trying to cause any disturbance. I understand being bothered by noise but this was handled poorly. Rather than lecturing and yelling at me and my friends, simply kindly ask that I turn down the volume on my device.
