March 2025 Update: I still go on occasion, I forgot to check the bathroom for any updates. I will say, I ate half of my lunch the last time I was there, got home and felt like I was roofied. I don't know if they doped my food with Tryptophan, MSG or what, but it felt like I had two fried turkeys and a Cosby cocktail. I wanted a 36 hour nap. Maybe it's all their fault, maybe I'm just getting old. I won't alter my star rating until further evidence suggests it's not me, it's them.
June 2024 Update: The new owners apparently did not buy the robot with the restaurant. Great decision! #1 and #3 below seem to still be legitimate complaints. Because of #1 we will not be going there tonight no matter how much my daughter begs me for fajitas.
I like the food and generally recommend this restaurant. There are three things that frustrate me considerably and they significantly impact how often we go.
$4.25 for soft drinks? Sure, make money on drinks; you're not running a restaurant for your health, but $4!! Because of this, we decide against going 50% of the time we otherwise would. Because of this, when we do go, it is well understood, we all are getting water without exception. If they charged $2.00-$3.00 for soft drinks, we'd go far more often and we'd spend money on drinks. Again, $4? Shame on you.
The robot gets in the way and doesn't appear to serve a purpose. Prior to its existence, waiters would bring our food and set it on our table. Now waiters follow the robot around and put the food it carries on our table. What's the value-add of this thing? Pointless several thousand dollars spent on an obstacle. I'm sure the robot is why they decided to charge $4 for a Coke.....I actually didn't see it the last time I was there and a friend of mine said he hasn't seen it in a while and thinks they got rid of it. If so, good for them; I only have 2 grievances then.
The men's bathroom has no divider between the urinal and the sink. If you're using the urinal and someone uses the sink, you're basically presenting yourself to them. It's a lose-lose situation. I mean, we're men, it's a men's bathroom and to a great extent I'm fine in a situation wherein I need to do what I gotta do and someone does what they gotta do and neither of us cares about the others' situation. Unfortunately there's no option to ignore the dude using the urinal if you need to wash your hands. I wonder how many people have used the stall and returned to their table with dookie particle fingers because they were too uncomfortable to wash their hands beside a stranger's wiener.
In summary, junk the robot (if not already done), charge $2.50 for Coke and put up a $40 partition beside the urinal and great success will follow! It's the simple things that make all the difference. It's mid April. I'll come back around mid-May and hope to see improvement. If not, then Azteca, Monterrey and maybe even Taxco get...
Read moreI work in the area and this place is convenient, the food is not anything to write home about but doable. I have tried this restaurant a number of times in the last 2 years there have been 3 different owners. I will say that it is also inconsistent but again depending on how my day goes and not a lot of restaurants in the area that are walking distance from my job when time is limited. Today on my lunch break I decided to walk over. I order 3 steak tacos with lettuce, tomato, and extra queso fresco (fresh cheese) not shredded. This is the exact way I said it to the woman taking my order. The woman asked if I wanted street tacos that are smaller and only $2 on Tuesday. I declined because they only come with onions and cilantro, I am not a fan of raw onions. She rang me up and my order and handed me a receipt for $19.48, steep for 3 tacos but I wanted what I ordered and when it comes to my purchases I ask for what I want and pay the asking amount. I get back to work to find that they have given me shredded cheese and not the cheese I ordered. I called them to make them aware of the mistake and they asked if I could bring them back to be remade, of course that's not a problem. I was hoping that the new order would have been made when I walked in. I was asked if I wanted a side of cheese to put on the tacos that already had cheese. I declined and asked for the food to be remade. They remade the order and I checked it this time be for leaving and asked for extra queso fresco. I was told that It would be close to $3 extra. So I asked was I being charged for the cheese that I didn't get. After they answered yes they spent another 15 minutes discussing if I should be charged or if what I was charged was correct. It finally comes out that I was rung up for less than I was supposed to be. As a business owner my customers satisfaction is my top priority and if putting extra cheese on a taco was all needed to make a mistake right whats the big deal. Secondly it is not my customers issue if there was a mistake made on the businesses behalf. Sometimes we have to understand that small adjustments and loses are apart of doing business and is not the customers issue. I was then told that they would call the manager to see if I should be charged.I told them never mind and went back to work. But not before letting them know I will not be coming back. I will NEVER patronize this business again because penny pinching is more important than a satisfied customer. I see why this business doesn't...
Read moreThis Review Is Not Even Based On The Food Because We Are Still Waiting For Our Food. My Issue Is From The Drinks That We Ordered. My Wife And I Are Sitting Here Waiting For Our Drinks (Had been waiting about 20 minutes for them) When A Caucasian Lady Sat Across From Us Looking Over The Menu Because She Had Just Sat Down And Appeared To Be Waiting For Someone. One Of The Waiters Come With The Two Margaritas In His Hand Asking Who They Belong To. For Whatever Reason, The Caucasian Lady Gave Him A Look As If The Drinks Belonged To Her The Same Time My Wife And I Motioned To Him That Those Were Our Drinks. He Looked At Her, Then Looked At Us As If He Wasn't Sure And Just Walked Away As If He Didn't Believe What I Was Saying. That Really Rubbed Us The Wrong Way. When Our Female Waitress Came Back We Explained What Happened And She Apologized For It. Like I Stated Earlier, We Are Still Waiting For Our Food But I Wanted To Write This Review Now Before I Left This Restaurant Because This Will Be Our First And Last Time Coming Here.
By The Way Our Actual Waitress Was...
