Willa B's Bistro — Restaurant in Mission Hill South Township

I really dislike leaving bad reviews, but I am so upset about our Valentine dinner that I thought I needed to review this place. Our table was very close to the music, which was so loud that we had to have our server repeat a part of the menu three different times. People who were friends or regulars were obviously treated much differently than we were. We had to ask for ice, the special which I figured would be a fair or lower price cost $60 (8 oz steak with 3 scallops) versus ordering almost the exact same thing off the menu for $30. (8 oz steak with mussels). We didn't know this until we were given our bill. The steak and potatoes were also seasoned with what I think may have been thyme or rosemary and the flavor was very off when you are expecting just a plain salt and pepper, juicy, natural steak and potatoes. It was almost inedible. We ordered the chocolate lava cake, which was about the size of half of a cupcake and was so overdone and dry, and had zero lava or goo in the middle. Very disappointing. We had really been looking forward to giving this a place a try because of the reviews and menu online but will definitely not ever be going back or recommending it to anyone else. Such a huge bummer because we love to support small town...

I live in Rapid City SD, but whenever I get a chance to visit Yankton, Willa Bs is an ABSOLUTE MUST!! The food, the staff, the building itself is amazing! Quality food, hidden gem if you will! I do not and will not understand those who left negative reviews. The prices are a little high, but all the dishes and even the NOODLES are HOMEMADE. You pay for what you get and what you get is outstanding food. Living in a bigger city, there is no place that even compares. Yankton is pretty small, not a lot of quality places to really enjoy amazing food. Live a little, stop in, meet the friendly staff, if you’re lucky enough you’ll get Tammy as your server. She is a delight! Along with the owner, who is always in the kitchen cooking everything fresh and from scratch. If you live in Yankton, or just visiting, treat yourself and stop in at Willa Bs. I can’t stress enough how amazing...

Good atmosphere yet a very limited breakfast menu.

I had the eggs Benedict. Disappointing. Eggs were perfectly poached yet the ham was bland. This was served on a way too thick slice of what may have been French Bread.

I asked for the Bernaise on the side which was a good call. The Bernaise was cold. I tasted it and when found it cold never went any further on the flavor.

I understand not storing Bernaise at a warm temp, but cold Bernaise on hot food?

Thinner bread lightly toasted. Slice the bread diagonally for greater surface area. Ham with some flavor. Warm the Bernaise prior to serving and a pepper mill for freshly cracked pepper.

Serve with two thin slices of lightly toasted French Bread to soak up the egg yolk...
