S.S Dockside Grill & Pub — Restaurant in Missouri

I have come here a couple of times trying to like this place, but after the last visit, I will not be back. This most recent time was more busy than previous times I have gone (it was Father's Day) but they were not overly packed like the wait time and service would have made you believe. I have experienced slow service there before, but this was the straw that broke the camel's back.

It took us nearly an HOUR to get our food, even after several groups had cleared out. The food was not worth the wait. My husband got a crab boil bowl and some of the corn and potatoes were cold. My fries were really good, but the fish was just okay (lacked flavor and was not very crispy) and the cole slaw had zero flavor. Our waiter barely checked on us and it was clear he did not want to be there. When he came over to give us our food, he accidentally knocked over my husband's water and it went everywhere. Accidents happen, I get that, but how they are handled matters. The waiter barely said anything (a mumbled apology) and did not refill the water cup that had been knocked over (at any point through the rest of our meal), and then proceeded to leave the dirty wet rag on our table, with our food. He walked by several times and did not pick the rag back up and seemed to basically ignore us for the remainder of our meal. I have been a waitress before and I get being busy and overwhelmed, but you can't just ignore the customers and make it obvious you don't want to be there. It makes the customers feel like a burden.

When my husband tried to let the manager know of our experience before we left, it seemed like she was less than interested in making improvements and did not take it seriously.

I keep trying to give this place a chance, but their lackluster service and underwhelming but overpriced food will keep me from coming back here again. There are much better places to...

625/23 Greeted upon entry. Host let us choose our own seats. Server Amber? Unsure 😁 Greeted us and got our drinks . Told us about Happy hour and Daily specials. We started off with Tossed shrimp in garlic Parm . It came out quickly. Hot and fresh and served by Archie the robot and our server. Upon ordering again . We were told that the Fish n chips were unavailable due to still defrosting the cod . We asked about the crab dip and was told that it was unavailable as the cooks had not finished making a new batch .

Settled for the Atlantic salmon which was offered with different flavors we choose Lemon glaze . Also ordered the Lobster roll with onion rings .

Salmon was nothing special. Typical lemon flavor served with rice and veggies all very tasty .

Lobster roll was soft and delicious. Sweet lobster with a light lemon butter sauce poured on top. So much sauce I had to eat with a fork. Tons of meat.

The onion rings were ok . Tons of grease and sauce served with it was nice. Tasted like 1000 isle but not exactly

I did order a side of blackened shrimp for $7 It didn’t come out with meal. Figured server forgot about it. I wasn’t gonna say anything but as I finished my lobster roll another person tried to deliver them to another table. It came out about 10 mins after the meal was delivered. I got 4 shrimp for $7 they were cooked to perfection and well seasoned. However, that price is a bit high. For 4 medium sized shrimp .

Ran out of drinks 1x but server had just been triple sat . So we waited patiently

Over all. Good food, good atmosphere. The building does have a cedar wood smell to it. Outside venue for live music and a full bar opposite side of dining room.

Even with the few things that went wrong. I will be back to try the gumbo. I would’ve got it today but it was 98 out and just got off a hot motorcycle ride

Beware!!! Double ask about your price. Double ask what you are being charged for!!! $10 Wednesday " is a lie!!! The only thing that was $10 Butterfly Shrimp Basket. Dockside Burg - horrible. Dry. No flavor. Upset stomach afterward. teased like it was out of the freezer and microwaved patties. For the first time visiting this place looks beautiful but unfair with ad lying and overcharging prices. And the only thing was very good, "Sweet Pepper Shrimp," which was not $10 it was $16!! The person should have told me this is not part of the $10 menu. Like I said, this was my first time visiting and would like to place an order that they had $10 Wednesday menu. I'm so very disappointed. "Roast Pot" never said it would be an extra $1 fee. The roasted pot was so dry and disgusting. Pointed to the pick of their Google map, "Popcorn Shrimp" was nothing like in the picture. The picture had some sauce on chicken. I got dry chicken instead. Kids mac and cheese was disgusting. Over microwaved and put waster or something to mix and over microwave again. That is not mac and cheese, yuck!!! My kid said. Also, in order to get their $10 order. you would have to dive in!?!? Kids eat free, have to dive in!!!
