I almost always order a cheese pizza for my review of pizza joints. I mean the cheese is the benchmark for all other variations of pizza. If you can't get the cheese pizza right, you got issues. As such I ordered the 7" cheese traditional.
I went inside to order and dine in. When I got inside there wasn't much of a line (you order at the counter). The salad bar and pizza buffet was open. Again I opted for my fresh cheese pizza. The young man that took my order was neither friendly nor rude. Just doing his job. All the workers were wearing masks.
I have to say, I have eaten at the French Lick Chicago's Pizza, and done a review for that one. These two are in fact different. Maybe the same ingredients, maybe the same owners, but there is a difference.
Inside there is plenty of indoor dining space, a salad bar, and the buffet was open. However it was pretty busy, and the few tables that were open still had food scraps and dirty plates on them. I found one on corner table that was open and clean.
The pizza dough has a very mild flavor, but it does have a slight bread flavor, nothing intriguing. The dough was nothing but chewy. No snap anywhere, not even the crust. The red sauce was also pretty skimpy and seemed bland. Cheese wasn't very oily, but was a bit salty. The flavor definitely came from the cheese. I also had an order of breadsticks, they were also just chewy, no crunch or snap. Very mild flavor.
Pros: None
Cons: Not super clean if busy, pizza was bland, breadsticks are bland.
I would recommend the French Lick Chicago's Pizza if given the choice. Not a horrible experience, but nothing at...
Read moreChicago's pizza has always tasted great fresh. However, it is nowhere near as good when it has been reheated. If you don't plan on eating leftovers then it is a good buy for me but often more expensive than competitors. Due to the prices I do not go frequently but service has always been good, the store is clean, and the parking is good as well. I do not know if this is specific to the Mitchell store, there is a buffet at that location for $11 but I have never seen a cheese pizza with sause in it. You can order online but the website is drastically inferior, when compared to a major chain. Any order online MUST be made 30 minutes in advance at minimum. If you order late by 1 minute, even for a pizza consisting of nothing but cheese, you will still need to wait 29 minutes. The one great aspect to the online menu is the website loads very, due to its simplistic layout and few images (for those of you worried about data or those still stuck on dialup,...

Dirty! We got a small Hawaiian and a small Pepperoni classic. Both were very good. We we're happy with the pizza....BUT...the floors were filthy. There was a piece of eaten on pizza under our table and other remaining food spills from other people before us. The walls had food on them also. Looked like they had never been washed down, but easily could have been. The edge of the seats in the booths had food scattered around too. 3 tables left after we arrived and by the time we ate and paid, those three tables STILL had dirty dishes on them.
The pizza was to good for the restaurant to not be clean! Lazy manager apparently. I'd hate to see what the...
