Waffle House — Restaurant in Mobile

I love waffle house ,I m 61 my father took me to WH when I was a kid. I have done the same for my daughter . And have always had fast service . But today was a whole different story. We went in just before lunch and the place was 3/4s full with 7 or 8 people behind the counter , finding a place to sit wasn't a problem . Finding a clean spot was, most of the tables and bar area were un-bussed. It took 5 minutes for someone to offer us some coffee, waitress said I'll be right back, so 10 minutes later we get ordered and the food was good . We were there for about 50 minutes , within 15 minutes most patrons had left . But when we left , plates were still sitting on the table for 30 minutes or longer . One waitress dropped a plate behind the counter , and everybody just stepped around it for 10 minutes until a cook picked it up for them. At this time there were only 4 tables busy, they weren't swamped . Guess it being Sunday the manager was off . As we left a woman behind us said something to me about the condition of the place, and said she would not be coming back. The place needs a new manager and the crew needs to be freshened up. IT WAS DISGUSTING! My rating is -1 star, I only put one because its required to post this review, I hope home...

Usually come during the evening and the crew is awesome! Today is Columbus Day, and I had the worst experience at this location ever. The waitress was the true definition of fat and lazy, the cook burnt our food, and they must hand out management positions like peppermints! My son and I had to ask for everything, so I didn’t tip. I always tip but I couldn’t bring myself to do it today. The environment was non engaging and felt like a day at the DMV or better yet a funeral! I started to relay my experience to the manager on duty and he was like sorry to hear that before I even finished talking. Not to mention he reached over the register to cash out my bill while the lazy waitress finally decided to help another customer after staring at the cook for the past 10 mins. Needless to say if it wasn’t for the evening crew being so great with names and engagement, I wouldn’t spend another dime in this establishment. Evening crew keep up the good work! Customer service was poor. I ordered a sandwich with no onions and got home and onions were all over my Texas bacon chicken melt. The store were out of lids for the to go carriers, no plastic silverware, we only decided to make it a to go order because our food sat on the counter 5 minutes waiting for the sandwiches to be cut. On a busy night like this, there was only one cook and him and the other employers were leaning over people's food, some had no hair nets, some were being rude...I'm just so outdone because I love the Waffle House and my boyfriend hates it, but he still takes me there from time to time when its late and we want a bite to eat....So although my food had onions on it after specifying No ONIONS, it was still delicious once i took the onions off and my boyfriend didn't complain about his food, so I won't bother to call and make a complaint, but if this happens again, I will definitely be...
