I was passing through this evening for a business trip. I was craving a home-cooked meal and this location seemed to fit the bill. Once I entered I was confused. There was no host or signs and there were two separate dining areas between the kitchen so I wasn't sure where to go. After a moment standing there a man walking by asked if I placed an order for pick up or was dining in. He then directed me to seat myself anywhere. After sitting at a table I was quickly greeted by a young lady and received my beverage promptly. She came back 3 times in as many minutes while I perused the menu to see if I was ready. While I was placing my order she started talking to someone else at another table. She was basically goofing off with whoever it was behind me. I got the daily special of chicken pot pie and it came quickly. It tasted good and sated my craving. When the food arrived the server refilled my drink and set the check on the table. She never checked on me while I ate. Another server offered to refill my drink and took away my empty dishes. I waited for my server to return so I could order dessert. After several minutes I got the menu out again thinking this would prompt her to come by. She finally did, but asked if I wanted to place a to go order. I said no and she left before I had a chance to say anything else. I waited several more minutes and she never came back. When I paid my check at the register the lady asked how everything was. I told her what happened and she apologized and offered go get me a dessert to go. My server at this point was leaning on the order pick up counter and hanging out with several people. My assessment overall is that the food is tasty and reasonably priced. This is a good location for locals, but if you aren't from the area I advise you go somewhere else. It's clear that the staff are too preoccupied with socializing and entertaining the regulars to do their...
Read moreI would give this place zero stars if that was an option. This was the worst food I’ve ever been served at a restaurant. My niece ordered a burger from the children’s menu and wouldn’t finish it -a nine year old, saying the burger was dry. My adult niece mentioned that her chicken breast was dry, as she was applying condiments to make it somewhat palatable. My dinner salad was pale, and the tomatoes weren’t tasteless - they actually tasted bad. My steak had lots of fat and grizzle. My wife ordered the special, which was pot roast. Literally half of it was big chunks of fat. The carrots were clearly baby carrots from a bag, bland and overcooked. The potatoes appeared to be from a can. Worst of all, before ordering, my wife specifically asked the server if the cabbage was cooked with pork, which, for religious reasons, she doesn’t eat. We were told it wasn’t cooked with pork. As it turns out, it was cooked with pork. We’re in our sixties and have eaten at a lot of restaurants all over this country. We’ve never written a review of a restaurant before but were compelled to warn others...
Read moreI recently dined at Miller's Family Restaurant in Mocksville, North Carolina, and boy, did it give my taste buds a rollercoaster ride! 🎢
Let's start with the good stuff. The food was delicious enough to make my taste buds do the cha-cha. From Grandma's secret meatloaf recipe to the heavenly peach, cobbler, it's a taste of home-cooked goodness. Four stars for flavor, hands down! 👵🍽️
Now, let's talk about the prices. Honestly, I thought I'd need a loan officer before I even finished my appetizer. 🏦 The food is undeniably tasty, but those prices could rival a Michelin-starred joint! 💰 And don't get me started on the credit card fee. I mean, really? 🤨 They have signs at the register warning you about it like they're preparing you for a financial expedition.
Here's the thing, Miller's - if you're charging prices that could fund a small country, maybe throw in the credit card fee as a complimentary cherry on top? I promise it won't break the bank. 🍒💳
In the end, I'll keep coming back for the food, but Miller's, you might want to consider giving those credit card users...
