NEVER GO HERE! When this place was the mexican restaurant Tequilas, my husband had a burrito and found a large bone in it. Quite disgusting! Now that it is Pepper Mill - it is the same owners - we decided to try it again. Cream of chicken soup very bland and floury - had to add a ton of salt & pepper to make it edible. As I was buttering my roll, there was a piece of hair. Since the rolls came in individually wrapped packages as did the little butter packs, I assumed it must have been mine - although I did not finish eating the roll. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger and AFTER she took a bite out of it, a BUG CRAWLED OUT OF THE BURGER! Obviously disgusted and nauseated, she jumped and threw the burger down. The waitress came over and looked at the bug and then brought the plate to the manager. The manager did not even have the decency to come over to our table and apologize. The waitress came back and actually asked if my daughter would like a new burger cooked! (Her reply: "Not a chance!") The waitress then told us that we would not have to pay for our food - LIKE THAT MAKES UP FOR BUGS IN YOUR FOOD! After all of this, we went back to discuss the hair on my roll - WAS it mine? Did it come off of the knife that I was using? - Doesn't matter - we will NEVER...
Read moreMy first dining experience here left me with the impression shared by many other reviewers - Pepper Mill is definitely NOT Run-Of-The-Mill. 👍 Several reviewers called this place a gem and/or mentioned generous food portions - two sentiments I echo. On the advice of a friend, I made my furthest trek to date to sample a small bit of what Mokena's Pepper Mill has to offer. After one visit I already know it won't be my last. The early morning visit, March 2019, allowed me to discover this gem, serving generous portions indeed. My breakfast choice was the skirt steak breakfast and a small stack of pancakes. Both selections were excellent. Though the steak that day was a bit thinner than what I'm used to, it was still juicy and tender, and it wasn't burnt to a crisp in places as what usually happens to most thin pieces of meat. As my pictures confirm, the steak was HUGE - oh yeah! 🥩 😍 😋 😊 👍 The pancakes left me wishing I had room for more. Delicious. 🥞 👏 😋 👍 Service that day was also top notch! The ambiance is warm and welcoming. I can't wait to return to see what other gems the menu has to offer for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Pepper Mill makes me wish I lived closer. A real...
Read moreThis is our first first time here and the first sign it was good, was there was alot of people here at 1030-11a. We didn't wait long only like 5-10 minutes. Both lunch and breakfast menus had alot of options and mostly typical stuff except for some specialties. I got the Irish benedict that had corned beef hash on top the English muffin, it was really good. Uncle got the club which was huge and good. Wife got the Sunday special with chocolate banana crepes, eggs hash browns sausage and bacon, it was only 10.98 and I think 3$ extra for those crepes. It was HUGE and worth every penny. I am not a pro on biscuits and gravy but the biscuits were light and had a good flavor to them, the gravy was pretty good. Not too peppery. For the service we had Christina and she was awesome! She was happy and even though she was busy spent time to chat with us with a smile, she was very pleasant to have. The cooks put sausage gravy on my Benedict by accident I guess and she came over to tell me they made a mistake and she already told her boss she was giving us a discount which was amazing. I added that savings right into the tip anyway! Thanks for the great experience looking forward to...
