I went there on Saturday night and the place was packed, yet they sat us quickly. Our server Raju was very polite in informing us that there might be a delay in getting the food out since everyone almost walked in at the same time and there is a backlog. I appreciated the upfront notice. Our food was indeed a bit late and we totally understand it as it is very hard to manage the rush as I used to work in a national restaurant chain and even we were not able server food without a bit of delay. Now getting to the food part, we ordered Persis Platter, kabab's were amazing from taste and presentation. However, I like my meat cooked well done which I didn't inform them so I think if they ask us, it will be good. We ordered the following Curries: 1. Chicken Tikka Masala - 5/5, Perfect level of spice and flavor. 2. Goat Curry - 5/5, This was a highlight of the meal, arguably this is the best Goat curry I ever had 3. Chicken Biryani - 4/5, This was good but I think compared to the other two item's quality, this was a little bit on a downside 4. Sizzling Brownie - 5/5, If you like Chocolate and want to enjoy something sweet, this the desert to go 5. Assorted Naan - 5/5, They were nice and soft, Their Onioflavourn Kulcha is a little bit different and I actually enjoyed it more than other places, Lacha Paratha, very soft, Garlic Naan, full of garlic flavor. Now going to service part: As mentioned before it was a bit slower than what I would normally like but I understand it. Even with super rush, Raju was able to come and check on us every now and then and ask everything was ok. The owner also stopped by and apologies for bit delayed in service, which is rare and almost unheard of in an Indian Resturant. Overall, if I have to stick by rating and everything perfect standard then I would give them 4 stars but being practical, I think I will go by 5* for them. I will try to stop by when they are not so busy and see how they...
Read moreThis place is phenomenal. Food is cooked to perfection. Wait staff is attentive. I want to raise my children here. They will never know anything else other than Persis Indian Grill & Lounge - BYOB.
One problem: navigating here is very hard. Jinna and I were SCREAMING. The houses were a suburban hell.

Captains Log (7 Months Later): If you’re trying to birth a child here, there’s a few things you should know.
Love, The Cauliflower

Captains Log (8 Months Later): Crisis Averted! The kid was not born here on the 4th Monday, of this naan leap year. The kid was actually born on a Thursday at 3:00am. We made an attempt to bring the kid to their new home. However, they’re closed on Tuesdays. Sadly, they will know more than Persis Indian Grill & Lounge - BYOB.

Captain’s Log (2 Years Later): We’re moving out. The constant parties is too much for Daphne. We don’t want her to grow up surrounded by partying whippersnappers. At the last sweet 16, the tomato soup was thick and ketchuppy. We considered thinning it out but we didn’t want there to be more. I fear more soup. The goat vindaloo, a beloved childhood hero for Daphne, was too sweet.
I think everyone has a right to know when people move in and out of their house. We still don’t know if there’s a new chef. They won’t tell us. It’s...
Read moreThis is a relatively new joint opened in Monroe township and we decided to give it a try. I was bit skeptical but as most places the menu happens to be the same and all gravies end up tasting the same. To the contrary this was quite impressive.
We ordered the Persia dumplings for starters. This is very similar to the vegetable bonds that you get it Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Perfectly prepared and fluffy. They could serve this with some chutney instead of tomato ketchup. We had the tomato sorba for soup. It was very similar to Karnarakas saaru. Bit oily for my taste but well blended. Then we ordered garlic naan, gobi Manchurian and mushroom chettinad.
Perfectly seasoned manchurian. Most places either add more soy or make it more sour with tomato paste. Here it was not about getting the color but the focus was on the taste. My teen rated this as the best manchurian she has tasted in a while.
Mushroom chettinadu - nicely prepared. I would have preferred coconut milk instead of coconut powder that was added to this dish. Overall tasty.
Garlic naan - one order has 4 quarters. Best naan. It had enough garlic and was not overpowering. Moist and perfectly prepared. Best garlic naan in all of the Indian restaurants around NJ.
Ambience - I was very happy to eat in a place where it was not dark but well lit and not too overpowering. Interesting facts to read on the wall about the history of...
