I honestly like this store quite a bit. It is certainly a welcome change of pace to the usual corporate retail chain store tapestry that I have grown up with in the tri-county area.
Honestly when it first opened down the road I largely ignored it because I had never heard of it, nor was I interested in their supply of tractors and tractor accessories.
But one day I decided to wander in just to see what it was exactly, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Apparently they offer an eclectic mix of various tools and supplies geared toward people who own pets or barn animals, work on farms or garages, who hunt, garden, or just general DIYers.
I find the atmosphere rather relaxed and pleasant, and I have found that I can find some very useful niche tools for household or automotive projects here which is great in a pinch since they are right down the road.
Stepping inside takes me away from the hustle and bustle of my stressful type-A corporate job for a little while and almost makes me feel like I am in another state. As weird as it sounds to say this I swear its practically therapeutic to stop in now and then.
I dunno. Its just a neat little store that offers some unique flair to the area while still providing some pretty useful goods and tools. In a weird way I find it kind of comforting. I'm happy to have one nearby.
Anyway I've purchased a few things from here so far including dog food, dog toothpaste, a half-inch drive breaker bar, a metric wrench set, a set of prybars, windshield and brake fluid, a giant pack of AA batteries, and other bits and bobs I needed for various projects. Their clearance bins are usually pretty awesome.
But the BEST thing I've found here is a big bag of something called Stosh's Kettle Corn. I grabbed it on my way out the other day for a quick snack. When I brought it home my girlfriend and I tried it... and then proceeded to immediately house the whole thing. This is some delicious...
Read moreI was looking for Flannel lined pants. They didn't have any in stock. While at the check out my husband asked me to pick up duck food. He sent a picture of the bag. The Cashier did not know how to find the food on the website. I walked back to the animal feed where 4 or 5 employees were standing talking. I was the only person in the store. I asked for help and showed them the picture. One gentleman told me you don't keep it in stock he would have to order it. Hey began showing me chicken feed at which point I told him that depths need a different percentage of nutrients. While looking at the bags of food I actually found what I was looking for That the store was not supposed To have. The employee slapped the bag said there you go and walked away. I had left my cart up front because I didn't know if you even had it. You're staff of 5 watched me struggle with a 50 pound bag. No one offered to help me. Finally I put the bag in the top of my Cart at which point the cashier moved it to the bottom. He then asked me if he could leave it there. I am struggling with Arthritis and would not have left my cart if I thought no one was going to help me. Won't be going back there! I could see if the store was busy or your employees were actually doing something. But standing there watching me struggle it's...
