Jersey Freeze — Restaurant in Monroe

Perfect min road trip for ice cream. What could be better?

Hopped in the car and headed to Monroe. Its not a quick trip but it makes my husband so happy. Jersey Freeze offers others treats other places dont. Where else can you have a flavor lined vanilla cone?

I am a lover of chocolate but this one location will pull me from my normal.

We made the drive. It's located right off the highway near a gas station. It has a decent sized building and large parking lot so you cant miss it. Also a drive thru is available if you need it. We parked and walked right up to the window as another couple was walking away. The list of the flavors is a few but they also were having a special flavor of pina colada available. My husband jumped at the chance for the pin colada and I was to try the blue goo. It didn't sound appealing at first but she told me it was like cotton candy and I couldn't say no. We got mediums and quickly realized we were way over estimating how much ice cream our stomachs could hold. The ladies in the window were helpful and quick. Don't forget to tip! They had a cute sign that said "Tipping is bad for cows and good for us." We got out ice cream and made our way to the seating area. There is no indoors to this location. Okay, here goes nothing! We are big ice cream lovers. We stopped for the first time today! The building is huge, there is shaded outdoor seating, lots of parking, a drive through. It’s very well taken care of.

We ordered the “freezers” (is that right) like a blizzard. They were good! The medium was bigger than I was expecting. We have a cookie dough one and a health one.

I have a weird food texture “sensitivity” 😂🤦‍♀️ I wasn’t sure if it was just mine, but then my husband said something also. It tasted great! The cookie dough chunks were soft and not the hard chunks you normally see.

But I swear there is whipped cream in their mix. I’m guessing they use soft serve to make the freezers? My husband thought it was cake crumbs mixed through the vanilla soft serve? Maybe we got the bottom of the barrel, literally.

I’m not sure if it’s always like that? There were just clumps throughout the soft serve. I thought it had an oily texture like whipped cream, but I don’t know for sure. It’s a mystery.

I’m not upset. We had a good time, just wasn’t expecting that and didn’t see a single other review talking about it. I’ll post an update if I find out more. I don’t love whipped cream or if it was cake crumbs, I’m guessing gluten free people wouldn’t love that, but again I don’t know.

I didn’t see any signage anywhere discussing gluten or their “speciality”...

Holy moly! This place is awesome! I don't eat much ice cream but I'm a huge sucker for flavor bursts! I asked the gal if they could do every flavor for a medium cone and what do ya know? They can! I wasn't dead-set on having every flavor but they made sure I got EVERY FLAVOR and it turned into a gigantic tower of soft serve bliss! I'm sure my look of bewilderment made everyone laugh, including the people behind me 😂 It was monstrous!

My boyfriend got the "Nachos" with strawberry and chocolate soft serve which included chips made from waffle cones, whipped cream, and cherries. This was also delicious but I was preoccupied with my own creation.

The reason why this place gets 5 stars is because their soft-serve comes in various flavors, it doesn't melt quickly like other places I've been (even in 100°F weather), and the flavors are on-point and don't taste artificial! Other than that, the staff is extremely accommodating and enthusiastic. So glad that we stopped here while passing through! I wish they were...
