Taqueria La shula — Restaurant in Mont Belvieu

Love the food at this place, however service has really been lacking. Our family usually comes here at least once a week and it’s gotten so bad we are really considering not eating here anymore. It’s not the food, it’s truly only based on the service. First, the new cashier is extremely lazy. I have watched her be on her phone in the corner booth just chilling as if nobody is here. The cook had to ask her to charge us so that we can pay and go. Now I know she seen us standing there for a good minute. Second she does nothing to help the other’s. So back todays visit, she never came over to take our order. It wasn’t until I got up that she noticed us and then made her way to help us. On top of that she got our order wrong twice. What’s so hard about huevo con chorizo tacos? The place is not even packed, so it’s hard to understand what’s the issue. Here’s something else if you ask for a bottle of water and they accidentally bring you tap water the cook along with the cashier will make fun of you, for asking them to correct it. The younger cook was the one that had major jokes “hay perdón… no toman agua de la llave”. No we do, but if I ask for a water bottle that’s what I want. I mean, I am paying for it, so what’s the deal? So today although it’s not allowed to bring food or drinks in, I brought my own so nobody can say anything. This place has so much potential which is why we chose to spend our money and time here. However, the service makes or breaks any business. I don’t generally go out of my way to leave reviews unless I find my experience to be that positive. I stopped in this afternoon to grab a simple bean and cheese burrito. She told me that they had a smaller taco and a larger burrito. I opted for the burrito and for five or six dollars let me tell you what that was the best bean and cheese burrito that I have had in this area and then some. Cheese all through that thang more beans than one might need but just right for this guy. Ambience in restaurant seems nice. It is a smaller Taqueria so be understanding of that. The five stars is actually for the food however, I really wanna give them one star because every single time that I come in there and it’s a different cashier, they seem to charge me different prices for breakfast tacos. When I question it, I’m given the same story about them raising their prices and how they’ve cost this much for a while.
