This gets 1 star because it wont let me give it 0 stars. We have herd this was a good place to eat but it must be graded on a curve (a very steep one). We didn't want to go out so we called up for delivery and ordered the 3 person A selection and a side of combination rice ALL BAD!!!
I’ve been eating at Charlie Wongs for probably 15 years now and I can still go here once or twice a week without getting sick of it. It’s truly some of the best Asian cuisine in the Flathead.
Must order appetizers are as follows -
The shrimp rolls are seriously unbelievable. It’s shrimp wraped in mozzarella and bacon in a egg roll wrapper and deep fried. YUM.
The potstickers are always crispy and delicious and the sauce is some of my favorite I’ve had.
Last but not least is definitely their seafood wontons, or sometimes known as crab rangoons in other restaurants. They are little cream cheese filled pockets of heaven with seasonings and finely chopped onions(?) in a deep fried wonton wrapper. Soo yummy.
My go to meal every time is the Kung Pao Chicken Combo with sweet and sour chicken instead of the pork wontons. The lunch is like $8 and it’s a ton of food with combo rice. Ask for it with extra peanuts and you’re in for a treat.
The owners Charlie and Elaine are awesome and work so hard for their little restaurant. You can call an order in and it’s usually ready in LESS than 10 minutes, sometimes as little as 5 - faster than Wendy’s or McDonald’s any day.
I love...
Read moreback-alley atmosphere (I kind of enjoyed it) but very unappealing on the outside and in. Staff was very friendly and very efficient. Ordered the seafood rangoons for an appetizer which were decent. I felt they were overly stuffed with cream cheese and not enough 'seafood'. My other companions had eggrolls, wonton soup, and an asian salad to start. The eggrolls were decent, though more like a spring roll. Soup was bland, and the salad wasn't anything special. I did enjoy how the food was presented. It was dressed very elegantly. For my meal, I had the sweet and sour pork with combination fried rice. Both the pork and the sauce were very good. Here's where things started to go downhill... My rice, and the rice of my companions had a very 'burnt' taste to it. Almost like a plastic taste. Unfortunately for my friends, the rice was mixed with the rest of their food, and tainted the flavor of the rest of their meal. Overall, I've had much better experiences at restaurants and will definitely not make any effort to...
