I ate dinner at Lolo Peak with my partner on 8/3. It started off fantastic... I ordered the huckleberry lemonade and my partner had the Three Needles IPA. Both were made in house and really delicious, and I don't typically like IPA's, but it was especially well done. We are huge pickle lovers, so of course had to order the house pickles - also fantastic. I asked the server what was better between the Thai Peanut Tacos and their Southwestern Beef Tacos. She recommended the Thai Peanut, so that is what I ordered. As soon as she walked away I had a sinking feeling that I had ordered the wrong thing and, man, was I right.

The taco's arrived with a side of peanut sauce that I tasted and didn't particularly care for. I found it to be really sweet and didn't really taste much like peanuts. I've made better peanut sauce at home with an Instagram recipe... The first taco I ate was disappointing compared to the rest of the food I had already been served but it was edible. The Asian salad didn't taste very fresh and the chicken was covered in the peanut sauce that I didn't care for. For my second taco, I opened it up and to my dismay it looked as if it was full of small hairs. I was shocked and very put-off. When the server returned I showed her my food and she was "disturbed" as well and immediately went to ask the kitchen. She returned and told us that it was lemongrass and not hair... Relieving at that point but I surely lost my appetite.

The restaurant comped us the meal and a piece of cheesecake (which was very good) but my entree was, frankly, bad and negatively impacted my experience. The server was very kind and I tipped her about what I would have tipped, had we not been comped items. I assume it was an off night for this recipe, as I don't think our server would have recommended this dish if what I received was the usual...

I'll be returning, but definitely not for the Thai...

October 2019: Glad to see that sweet potato fries are an option to sub in place of regular fries for a fee now! Got the Bitterroot Burger with an Oktoberfest beer. It was delicious! Our server was very helpful.

November 2018: We got a burger and the shrimp criollo tacos. Good food. Liked the burger more than the tacos, but they were still good. Didn’t get any sweet potato fries.

June 2018: Dropped by after hiking up Lolo pass area for a beer and sweet potato fries. Beer was good $4.50 for the porter. Service is never super fast which is fine for us since we come to chill out, but just know that going in.

February 2018: here with the in laws and a friend. Good food. Good for a relaxed evening. House ketchup is quite good! It’s a bummer you can’t substitute sweet potato fries for a fee.

December 2017: Had dinner here after hiking Saint Mary Peak. The Beef burger was fantastic and the sweet potato fries are splendid.

November 2017: Came here again. This time for our 2nd anniversary. The cranberry walnut salad is absolutely amazing. The Criollo Chicken Tacos were very good as well. Just a very relaxing evening for a meal and a beer.

October 2017: Had the Mediterranean lamb burger which was fantastic. Had a flight of beer, the porter, amber, golden, and scotch ale. It was good, just wasn't spectacular as far as depth of flavor. The side salad was great! The fries were hot and beer mustard was great with that. Has a comfortable, almost rural Montana feel, as far as...

Our recent Father’s Day visit to Lolo Peak Brewery left us so frustrated that we won’t be returning anytime soon. We were excited to sit outside, especially with our young child who was eager to play in the bounce houses, and we could see eight empty tables out there. But we were bluntly told we couldn’t sit outside because of their server rotation policy. When we asked a server for clarification, their response was essentially, “Customer preferences don’t matter, it’s about the rotation.” That was incredibly off-putting and felt like our needs were completely ignored. I get the intent to keep things fair for staff, but dismissing a family’s simple request—especially when we had a kiddo who needed space to move—was just unacceptable.

The service didn’t help matters. It took forever to even get our drinks, which soured our mood further after the seating fiasco, so we skipped ordering food entirely. The food’s usually decent, though overpriced, but we weren’t in the mood to wait. On top of that, the place was so loud it was nearly impossible to have a conversation. We’ve had better experiences here before, but this visit was a complete letdown. Honestly, the lack of care for customers’ needs makes it hard to justify...

This review will not be about the restaurant, although we ate and it was great. This review is about snowmobiling. Yes, right there at the restaurant, the manager also takes care of a snowmobile rental that saved our day. I usually investigate before leaving for an adventure and did not find anything around our place. We, for some destiny trick decided to drive the 20 some miles to see what this Lolo was. And when we saw the snowmobile and the rental.sign.. that made our day. Absolutely stunning views, over 20miles of trails we did but the trails area is huge and gorgeous!! Reasonably priced and very VERY friendly staff. The managers was over the top explaining to us the area, the dos and donts.. This business deserves to be mentioned and shared. If you are looking for snowmobiling this spot is gorgeous!
