So prices have gone up since my last visit, but I have to admit, I’m not mad. Who’s prices haven’t gone up since Covid? It’s still a great value and they are definitely less expensive than some other sandwich spots I frequent.
Anyway, don’t get near Montebello as much as I would like anymore, so when I do, you try to grab a roast beef sando since it’s pretty unique here. The believe it’s still made on the store, so you are not getting sliced up deli meat that you can get anywhere. I was also craving a sub, so I got both which was a mistake. Two large sando’s for less than $18 is a deal, but I ate half the sub on my drive home, so I only had enough room for about a 1/4 of my roast beef :). Happy to have left overs, so all good there, but I definitely will gain weight if I order like I did.
Service is always spot on. This trip was a call ahead order which they said would be ready on 10 mins, but told them was 20 mins away, so they said they would hold off a bit before making so it would be fresh. How cool was that.
Best straight forward sandwich and prices in the San Gabriel valley for sure. I have a Italian sub option in another city when I need it, but Tony’s is my only spot for...
Read moreI walked in just as they were opening. I ordered a turkey sub and a corned beef sub. I also wanted to try their marinara sauce to I picked up a frozen container of that. The sandwiches were typical. It's not stale but not fresh bread either. The sauce was below standard. It was heavy tomato taste with very little taste of anything else. The meat in the sauce was scarce. It appears as though they use a whole table spoon for this container. I think I could overlook the food or at least find something that I could enjoy, However, the worst part of substandard food is the terrible service. Both ladies that were there that morning were painfully rude. So, although the sandwiches were not bad, they tasted worse because of the price I paid and the less than helpful service I received. I don't think I would go back to spend my good money on that kind of service, which is a shame because had I been given better service, I might have found something that I would...
Read moreBack to basics…Tony’s Deli is a reminder of what good customer service is, when community comes together in the most difficult times, the basics never stopped with this establishment. Big Props to Brandon for coming through on a very difficult day that my family and I were about to go through. Brandon and his employee must have seen the sadness on our faces when my wife and I were attempting to place an order for a loved ones service. He stepped in and made sure that without a doubt our order would not only be available at an earlier time than the establishment is open but the delivery would be successful at the site of service. Thank you so much “Tony’s deli” for making this one less painful experience. Because of your pleasantness and, not to mention delicious food, it’s no wonder your establishment has been around for so many years and generations….Here’s...
