Laurel Mountain Bakery — Restaurant in Monterey

We love vacations in middle TN, this bakery in one reason why... Our experience here was amazing, as I finish eating the last bite of Sourdough infused with Cheese and Bacon 🥓 😋,

We also got a loaf of Cinnamon Rasin Sourdough... Fresh, soft, not heavy, and absolutely delicious especially warmed with a touch of butter, or apple butter.

The young woman that waited on us was kind, thoughtful and pleasant during our blessed visit. The bakery is in a well maintained house just of 136 in Monterey, a few minutes from Standing Stone SP 😀

We had our breakfast sandwich on the Bacon 🥓 Cheese 🧀 Sourdough, lightly toasted, til the cheese and bacon flavors were slightly flowing, 😋 simply delicious, and tasty, a different type texture compared to hard Sourdough breads 🍞.

She had Cinnamon Rolls too, we just had room for the two loaves during our trip. We will be back next year,...

I stopped by here actually heading to Dairy Queen and hadn’t noticed it before in my frequent travels back and forth to Nashville. Walking in, I found two good sisters working in the side room to package food for future sales. I purchased a loaf of sour dough bread and a cookie six-pack. Let me just say, I have an aunt that is one of the best cooks in the country and she makes sour dough bread from scratch that will melt in your mouth. I’ve tried MANY others from “homemade” stores and been disappointed, but this bread was FANTASTIC. Very friendly staff...sourdough bread is GREAT!!! But.., we also purchased a cherry pie, that's where the issue comes in!! Was looking forward to warming a piece up and slapping some vanilla ice cream on it...but when we pulled it out of the box..it was all doughy..alot on top and even more on the bottom!!! Taken out waayyyy before it was done. Sticking it in the oven right now hoping it will right itself. Katherine also bought a pecan pie that was cooked right and good, (pecan is her thing not mine.) This was our first time to the store..., disappointed. So, stick to the bread but pass...
