So I work at the airport but never really made time to try Woody's upstairs from me. Wow, have I been missing out! The food was amazing! Okay first let's start off with the host Ava. She is so sweet and welcoming, and remembered me when I had come upstairs earlier that day to introduce myself basically. A great first impression and representative for Woody's. We sat down in a busy atmosphere with a great view and were met with a smiling server and our menus. I watched the server place two amazingly STACKED dinner plates on the neighboring table, one was a huge, juicy looking chicken and I think a baked potato and the other plate was a giant,THICK prime rib. I don't even know what else was on the plates because I couldn't stop staring at the full plates!!! So we ordered appetizers and drinks and I was sold on the prime rib. My boyfriend ordered the swordfish and our friends ordered the rib eye, the chicken and clam chowder. Appetizers were amazing, and our drinks were so delicious! Definitely order drinks from that specialty menu! My prime rib was cooked the way I asked-PERFECTLY, (and they have both styles of horseradish). Everyone at our table loved their dinner selection! My boyfriend shared a bite of his swordfish, and it was absolutely the best I've had. And just now, writing this review, I am realizing I never offered a bite to my boyfriend for the first time ever. Lol. My food was so good, I ate it all!! Lol. As for the service, I could not say enough about Lindsay, (sorry if I spelled her name wrong!) She's absolutely the best! She never left us waiting and was always checking on us, and gave great suggestions. Such a great spirit and happy vibe with her. I hope they never lose her. I felt like we were treated like VIP's! So, would I eat here again? They better make me a chair withy name on it! Sorry that I didn't come up sooner! Can't wait until the next time. Thank you for a great experience.

Had a flight delay in Monterey so I decided to grab some lunch. The counter person at Budget said it was really good so I thought I would give it a try. Otherwise I would never think that an airport restaurant would be legit (that’s so bias lol).
On walking to the Host/Hostess stand I was immediately greeted….by a few people actually. That felt good so my experience was already off to a good start.
I asked if I could scan the restaurant to see where I may like to sit. They said go ahead. So I selected a nice booth by the window.
Place was buzzing and they appeared to have a lot of locals eating there…lots of interactions of familiarity with the staff. Which to me was pretty cool and said a lot about the place since it is in an airport.
Cleanliness was great! No issues with floors, tables or food safety from my view of the dinning room. All the server were well groomed and uniforms and aprons were CLEAN!
Service…excellent! I don’t remember the young lady’s name but she was super friendly, super accommodating, and super pleasant. Somebody other than her delivered my food which tells me team work is happening and there is a focus to get the food out of the expo window right away. He was also very friendly and also gave me the perception that he appreciated me eating there (thanks big guy!)
Food. Only getting 5 stars because I cannot give 6. Had the Hawaiian Mahi Mahi sandwich. Fish was very plentiful and very tasty! The bread that it was on was SO good! BC salad dressing was on point and I was told made fresh. I believed it! Delicious. Onion rings were very good too.
Overall such a good experience I had to make mention to the manager or owner on my way out! He appreciated the kind words.
I will DEFINITELY eat here again when in Monterey! And I do hope your experience is as good (if not...
Read moreI’m not impressed with Woody’s at the airport and was disappointed with the customer service and my food. I was a regular customer of the Golden Tee restaurant that was in this location for many years. I enjoyed the sand dabs and my favourite was the Friday prime rib with the twice baked potato. Well I heard Woody’s had the prime rib and decided to come in on a Friday evening. The hostess who sat me was grouchy and got me a small table along the wall. My waitress was friendly but a little bit on the slow side. I placed my order for the prime rib and twice baked potato as well as a starter salad with balsamic vinegar and oil for me to make my own salad dressing. The salad and drink took about 30 minutes to receive and the salad was nicely prepared. I sat at the table looking out the windows to my right side. What I didn’t like is that the hostess sat people right next to me in a restaurant that was dead. There were plenty of other available tables she could have sat those people. My prime rib dinner took approximately 2 hours before it was served to me. The prime rib was mostly made up with fat and it was to well done for my liking. I usually have prime rib served rare. The potato was cold and just wasn’t as good as their predecessor use to serve it. For the price it cost me it should have been better. It’s also a good thing that I didn’t have to catch a flight because of the time it took to receive my order. I am giving Woody’s 2 stars and that is strictly for the waitress who was friendly albeit slow. As for returning to Woody’s again in the future that is highly unlikely. Most of the offerings on the menu are boring and not the type of food that I...
