So there seems to be some issues at this place, such as, there is no longer a camp manager that runs the office. Seems they haven't found a replacement. So if you leave a message on the answering machine, you are likely to not get a call back or anyone to answer anyways. I have posted pics of the call sheet with valid numbers to call. When I tried to book online it didnt work and directed me to call the reservation number, I call and I was told I could not book over the phone and was told to call the office but at 5pm on Friday it was closed and was told to call on Monday. Called a number of times and left a message, no response. All said and done, I roll into the camp and found the camp host and husband. They were more than helpful and got me a slot and took my payment info. As all the review mention, and a quick glance at a map, you will see that the camp is indeed at the end of the runway of the Monterey Airport. Most flights were done by 9pm and I wasnt awaken by any flights. I went for an 8pm stroll around the golf course and enjoyed the walk and cool night air. For the price, this place is great. About 60 a night.

Easy wheelchair access to restrooms & laundry, but steep. Some pads better than others for wheelchair user. Call for res rather than book online if using walker, wheelchair, or special needs. Cool, quiet summer retreat. Golfers' paradise. Older park. Great launch pad to Monterey attractions. Laundry machines old. Laundry & restrooms dusty. Spiderwebs aren't cleared from hook up boxes. Camp host can be overbearing & political (not fond a the Vietnam War) but overall friendly & helpful. Follow the rules & don't engage.

WARNING. Only open to military and DOD employees. We always appreciate these facilities exist and reasonable prices. There are no inexpensive options near Monterey. Very nice manager and camp host. Note that most sites are back in, most are short, and not a lot of room for parking. No fire rings. Google Map it, it is on the runway of Monterey Regional Airport. Fortunately there are no red eye flights but private planes come and go all night. Large, clean bathroom and free laundry. We will be back next year.

Update 20250603: The campground called this morning and made things right which I respect and appreciate so i am coming on here to update my review.

I'm very torn writing this review however I think people should know what they may be getting.

I arrived to the campground May 21. At this point I had already been on the road for 2 weeks. My initial thought was that it was a pretty area, great location for us since we were going to a festival right there on the fairgrounds however a bit tight but I'd make it work. The first night I got in a had electricity up till about 9pm then it shut off. I checked all my hookups multiple times and everything was working the way it should. I figured maybe it was a glitch or something and I would contact them in the morning. I turned on my propane to make sure that my refrigerator stayed cold since I had a full fridge. Thankfully it was not hot out so I didn't have to worry about the AC being on however I knew I wasn't going to be able to use my CPAP machine that night. The next day I called the front office and they send someone out to see what's going on. The individual that they sent out apparently was new to the team and didn't know all the ins and outs. He stated that there was power coming out but didn't know why it wasn't getting to the RV but would talk to his manager to find out, that was at 10ish am. I also was not the only individual who was dealing with power issues while I was there. Apparently many of the campers were having rolling blackouts. I would get power for maybe an hour and then it would shut off again and sometimes the power only lasted 5-10 minutes and then it would be off again for hours. I ended up calling back around 415 to find out everyone was already gone for the day. I had to call the hotel and they said they would send someone out. The individual they sent out said that this happens all the time with this Campground which was a complete surprise to me because I didn't read anywhere that this was issues people had here. Mind you during this time I'm still having to use my own propane to keep my fridge cold so my food doesn't spoil and I'm having to turn on my generator in order to cook food or do anything within my camper. The individual I spoke with on the phone said that he would talk to his manager and they got back to me and said that they would give me $20 off a day so instead of paying $65 a day I paid $ 45. At first I thought well that's better than nothing but nowhere did they offer to move me to a spot that actually worked especially knowing that I was there for a full week and also mentioned my cpap multiple times. I also needed the electricity to be able to use my CPAP machine at night so I'm glad that they considered my life. I needed it to run my Wi-Fi since I had dogs with me and wanted to be able to have my camera going in the camper while I was at the festival next door and I was not able to use that which caused a lot of unnecessary stress. Also at night when we would come back nothing would be working so we couldn't warm up food or do anything that a normal person would do after coming back from a long day. It was very frustrating. While the campground itself is beautiful, also the showers and laundry room are great besides the guy cleaning the restrooms at 9 every morning making it hard for anyone wanting to use it to get ready, this really put a damper on me because now I was having to also pay for a campsite, my propane and gas for a generator (mind you california gas is over $5 a gallon). I ended up leaving a day early and was told I'd get a full refund for that day. However when I told them I was leaving a day early with over 24 hrs notice the individual helping me told me I'd be refunded 20 something that he wasn't able to get the full refund but for me to call the manager to get that fixed. I've called the manager twice now and left a voicemail two different days and have not heard back so my assumption is they're going to try and avoid...

Didn’t even make it to the site, day of my arrival they switch my site to half of what I paid for (partial hookups and back in site) from a pull thru full hookup site . My rv can’t run off at 30 amps it’s hot and I’m 60ft plus in length so I specifically made sure to book pull thru site. This is during spring break time which is the busiest time of the year and making last minute reservation changes are basically impossible . This is unacceptable and I understand that full time residents get priority but if your going to make a reservation 3 months out and the site holder decides last minute they would like to extend then they need to verify its available if it’s not ask the person to move temporarily to a new site and then they can move back to the spot after the reservation was set to end. Terrible customer service and site management manager won’t even take a call. Planned our whole 10 year anniversary around the camp site location so super livid with this kind of service. Simple common sense to take care of your reservations if they did their due diligence to make sure they booked out and got everything squared away rvs are not like hotels and can just be moved to another room with minimal to no change. Update it got worse: site was not a full hookup (30 amp not 50amp when specifically asked for 50amp hookups when the reservations were made. Had to get a hotel because 30amps was not enough power overall...

0 stars for management 5 for host 4 for campground

We stayed here 5/22 and the camp host was so nice. We had a great stay, clean showers, free laundry facility. 8/23 we PCSed from SoCal to NorCal. Check out from the command was a “hope we get outta here on this date” type thing so I made two sets of reservations for our possible dates rolling through Monterey. Both dates ended up being bad, we canceled and I made a third reservation. The day before checkin we get a get a voicemail from Rosalie saying the campground was overbooked and she canceled our reservations. She thought she hung up but alas she did not and I have a recording of her bad mouthing me calling me names, saying I was up to something, and some very unprofessional language. Yes, Rosalie I was up to something, a very stressful dual military PCS with a bunch of kids and a dog. Anyway she made up the part about being overbooked because she “is not playing games with a little chickie”. I have the voicemail transcripts and have provided them without response so far but I’ll continue reaching out and following up because this is not how you manage a FamCamp. Why not ask us what’s going on? Thanks for the added stress of finding a place last minute on the coast in early August and the absolute unprofessional...
