I go here every Thursday for the hamburger steak. Their mac n cheese is something I really look forward to throughout the week. Great southern home cooking. I can't help it, but I go all out when I order: double mac n cheese, black eyed peas, collards AND a fried chicken breast to sop up the gravy from the hamburger steak. The only negative is that they get really, really busy sometimes and when they do I don't bother. It sometimes takes about 30-45 minutes to get in and out. When I time it right, though, I can get in and out in 10-15 minutes. Thursday lunch at Josie's is definitely the one lunch day I look forward to the most. Read moreSoooooo worth going for lunch! I lived in Perry for 12+ years and we drove out to Josie's at least 2x a month, sometimes more. Didn't matter what was on the menu for the day, it was all good. Whenever anyone came to visit us we'd take 'em to Josie's. The only place I would ever order dessert, coconut cream pie! Yeah buddy! Took me over a hour to get my lunch, I got back to work late and couldn’t even eat the food. Take it from me and go to El Patron around the corner. The food is great and by the time you eat your food and go to your destination, Josie’s would just be starting to plate the food. Never again....
