China Chef — Restaurant in Montgomery

Very good food. I am new to the area and everything I have tried so far has sucked, This place is really good. I placed an order for delivery and it felt like by the time I finished placing my order they were at the door. Super fast! (About 15 minutes). The person who took my order was very friendly, so was the driver. I ordered the Chicken w. Cashews which tasted great. The chicken is good. It's not slimy and disgusting like at other restaurants. Also had a good amount of cashews. The Spring rolls are definitely one of my favorites. Give them a try. The Hot & Sour soup was good, but it's not like how Hot & Sour soup is usually made at Chinese-American restaurants. It didn't have Tofu in it, which was a bummer. It did seem to have little pieces of pork in it. I do not eat pork so I just removed it, It didn't have that much and it was easy to remove. But the soup does have a little kick to it! I have been eating here for years and one of the reasons I chose this place is because it reminds me of my hometown Chinese restaurant Peking Garden. Over the course of time I have experienced different tastes with the exact same meal. I have had perfect, I have experienced old grease taste, and I think it may have made me sick. So I decided to stay away for a while to see if anything changes. I can say that they lady seems to be extremely tired, exhausted maybe. She always has this look on her face that lets you know something is bothering her. The poor kids are always in the lobby or behind the counter and I honestly think that is no place for kids to be. She needs to just stay home and let the men do the work because it's just not right. I'm praying that she finds peace but to be honest I think today was my last time...

Great food! We picked this restaurant for take out because it is closest to our Cloverdale neighborhood. But, it is now our favorite Chinese place in Montgomery. All our 5 dishes were delicious. Beef with broccoli and beef with onion/peppers were some of the best in our lives There are very large dumplings in the pot sticker order. Their pot sticker sauces and stir fry sauces taste to me as if they are hone made...and great! We aren't from the south...so we think the filling in crab rangoon is too sweet...but, every restaurant in Montgomery we have tried serves them this way.
