Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Montgomery

*edited after leaving this review and a comment to the corporate office I received some coupons in the mail and have had them in my wallet since. Tonight me and my boyfriend are doing laundry and he wanted some dairy queen so I pulled out the coupons for a chicken tender basket and he went. I guess the lady mentioned something about the coupons and he said they were his girlfriend's....she said your girlfriend must be pretty special to get a coupon from the big boss like that. They were closing soon and she said she was giving me the rest of the chicken tenders they had left and the service he received was much better. They have definitely redeemed themselves to us tonight so I wanted to adjust my comment and rating.

Well I went to dairy queen this afternoon, there is a sign on the door that says "drive thru only" and " we will not serve you without a face mask." I had a face mask on the entire time. As I was reading the sign at least 3 employees came in and out of the store. I walked to the drive thru line stood thru 2 cars at least with the sun beating down on me, then when I got to the window 2 employees told me I had to go to the front and someone would take my order. So I went to the front. One employee came out and took someone food and told me they were ringing me up, I told her I hadn't ordered yet. A male employee came by and my boyfriend suggested they fix the sign to be more clear about the drive thru he said he would let someone know. At least 2 cars and 2 teenagers were served cashed out and left from the front where I was and probably 3-4 cars thru the drive thru. There was approximately 6 or more employees going in and out at various times, most not speaking to me. Finally after 30 min sitting in the hot sun on the ledge outside of the store I stand up and throw my hands up questioning is no one going to wait on me. I was the only person outside now and the drive thru had 1 car in it. Finally a woman comes out and tells me that everyone was trying to get out of there and they were really busy, to which I informed her that they have plenty of employees running in and out not to mention the fact that in the 30+ minutes I had been waiting I could see how much business they had and it wasn't anywhere near slammed especially for The amount of people working. She said other people had call in orders is why they got served ahead of me which made little to no sense because I hadn't been served at all. This was really ridiculous. I have worked in many restaurants and I know how stressful it can be and I hate to give people a hard time when they are working hard and just get overwhelmed or when they are understaffed or lots of reasons, but I could clearly see more than enough employees to handle the customers if they weren't running in and out chit chatting and ignoring customers who are in plain sight. This could have been as easy as taking my order at the drive thru window with my mask on and telling me next time wait up front or even just the people who are trying to get off work so bad have to wait on the customers that are there before they leave. It seemed like it was just a kick back chill day the way employees were running around doing almost nothing but eating clock hours and ignoring customers as they count down til clock out. I sat outside so long I literally am sunburned from the sun glaring out me 30-45 min between the drive thru line and the wait in front of the store. This is definitely the worst review I have ever left a business and I normally never leave bad reviews just to let you know how disrespected I felt and how bad...

I have been a return patron of this location for as far back as I can recall as a little tot, and I'm no spring chicken at 50+. As always, their Original Chicken Strip Basket with it's butter toasted bread and gravy along with fries was just so satisfying. They have recently been showing commercials of 2 flavors of newly available Chicken Strip Baskets like the hand tossed Honey BBQ strip... Which my friend wanted to try, and "Ding, ding, ding" loved it. Saying that it was really good, jucy, and really liked it. It was the same as the original on the bread and fries. It just came with Ranch Dressing for dipping instead of gravy... Which just really put it over the top. Don't fill up too much to skip the sweets, or if you do, grab something to take home for later, which is what I did... Strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard later that night straight out of the freezer was tried and true the perfect ending, my favorite and always enjoyable. 🫰🫶👍👍 Stop in and give them a try...

Since this Dairy Queen has come under new management it has been phenomenal! They changed the fries and they are so much better than the old ones! Not only is the restaurant seating area clean but behind the counter is kept very neat/clean as well. The staff was attentive & the food was all hot and neatly made/packaged. We ordered three meals and it was all out within a few minutes. They took our order for ice cream and agreed to wait and make it after we were done eating. Overall very good food, service,...
