Fat Man's Smokehouse BBQ — Restaurant in Montgomery

First thing I expect when I walk into a restaurant is to be greeted. Not only was I not greeted but the short little girl at the register seemed annoyed I was there 15 mins before closing. It was my first time there and there was a huge menu I was trying to look over but her eyes were burning a hole through me so I just rushed and ordered the rib plate.

As for the food, the fries were cold and the rib was barely warm. The meat was very tender I must say but they had absolutely NO flavor. I didn't taste any smoke, or charcoal flavor, seasonings, nothing. They tatsed like ribs straight from the grocery store into the oven lmao.

I'm so sick of people disrespecting banana pudding. It seems a restaurant can slop together anything and call it that. Just the name banana pudding makes you want some but theirs is just basic banana flavored pudding with literally 2 cookies on top, uh, no, sorry. Real banana pudding has home made pudding, ACTUAL banana pieces, enough cookies to have a taste in every bite and topped with optional whipped cream.

I went to Wal-Mart this early afternoon and saw how busy they were. I haven't had fat man's BBQ before and without any doubt in this kid's mind, it was far better tasting and more moist than Full Moon's BBQ. I am extremely pleased I stopped by today. It is a pleasure to enjoy good barbecue. One Benny is that I am supporting a family owned and operated restaurant rather than a filthy rich conglomerate. I highly recommend Fat Man's Smokehouse BBQ. They are open for breakfast and lunch. Fortunately I got there around 1:00 this afternoon. 24 June 2022 I enjoy their Barbeque sandwich plate about every five weeks. You know it is an excellent location for good food and Barbeque because of the number of people eating there and picking up to go orders. I'm not a fan of hole-in-the-wall BBQ places. In my personal opinion $15+ per person could be spent better. And family BBQ joints get elbow to elbow busy in a way I don't fool with. But my better half drug me here a few months back and let me tell you this hole is something special. $17 and some change buys us both heaping plates of food (we get the pork fries) and drinks. I'm a sauce fanatic and they've got a few good ones, but the pork sings without any help. The place is aways clean. The service is lightning fast but we go on weekends when business is slower. I've never seen the weekday lunchtime rush but would probably brave it if I worked close enough. They are very friendly but don't have to be. They could be downright rude and I'd be back again and again. Food this good can do some heavy lifting. They could cut corners with everything else but they don't.
