K & J Rib Shack — Restaurant in Montgomery

This company recieved one star from me just so that I can leave a review with that being said like my husband say if the drinks taste better than the food then theres a problem. We ordered the brisket plate and the 4 rib plate. I can honestly say it was the worst we've ever tasted. The brisket was wafer thin and nothing but fat ..my husband sides were "collard greens'' (which tasted like mustards from a can) Mac and cheese tasted like water and butter no cheese....my ribs was dry and tough so I tried putting the sauce on them which was a waste because it's nothing but water. My sides were yams .........y'all should be ashamed serving customers this mess...they taste like butter only no sugar nothing but butter. The ribs had a very strong taste and smell of liquid smoke. Corn bread was hard as a brick. And remind you we were there at 10:30 when they opened so there's no excuse to have served dry meat and poorly prepared food. See we were trying to find a bbq place that was near so we didn't have to go on the west side to Brendas BBQ but we're disappointed and will continue to commute for good bbq at Brendas. Good sweet tea and lemonade though....my husband and I never concern ourselves with how others view what we eat ..we try it for ourselves...leaving out i you asked was it ok...I answered yes out of respect because it was a...

I walked in one day on my lunch break to order some food and there was a lady sitting behind the register eating her food. Okay, this isn't the best of service, but whatever. BUT THEN, she looks me in the eyes and licks on here fingers, one by one and finally ask me if I need help or if i was ready to order. This is one of the most disgusting things I've seen when it comes to service. I did not order the food and said no thank you, have a good day.

I wanted the Gm/Owner to know of the situation because sometimes they do not and wanted him t know so she isn't hurting their service. So I tried calling the GM/Owner the following days and I was told they would call me back. I wanted to let him/her know about the situation so they were aware and could fix and confront the issue. But sadly no one ever called me back.

If you love smoked meats then you will love K & J Rib Shack. The food was absolutely delicious. My husband & I both ordered the sandwich combo to go. The combo consists of a pulled pork sandwich, one side & a drink for just under $8. Our pulled pork sandwiches had a small bun but it was packed full of the most delicious smoked pork I believe I've ever eaten. It had the perfect amount of smoke flavor. My husband ordered the macaroni & cheese for his side. It was not a very big portion & it was put in a small 2 oz. styrofoam cup but it did taste really good. I ordered the french fries. At the time I did not realize they have the shoe string fries that I don't really care for. It looked like a medium size amount but cooked longer than I would prefer.
