Actually my favorite bar anywhere. Live music several nights a week. A place to dance. Always a trip with an interesting scene and lively crowd. This spot is almost always hopping and is not to be missed if you’re in the area. Worth the trip down from the mountain where there’s usually not much nightlife. This place is never dull. Even on a Wednesday there’s something happening (free pool and awesome 50 cent wings). Thank you Snowshoe for always being a hit for the last 15 years I’ve been coming to Jay and Montgomery.

In the evenings this is a pub first and a restaurant second, but it's a warm, cozy environment and the food was great. Good draft beer selection, but don't expect your server to know what's on tap; it's written on a board up by the bar. The poutine wasn't the most authentic (waffle fries??) but was hearty and filling. The wings were very good, and I'm typically picky about wings. They do have various daily specials so don't forget to check them out or ask your server. All in all, I'd be happy to eat here again.

After having a bad car accident, VERY far from home, Snow Shoe met us with incredible hospitality by re-opening their kitchen for us and offering to help with our predicament. We happened to be there on open mic night and had an absolute blast. If you are skiing Jay or passing through, definitely stop for a bite or something to drink. Incredible place, incredible people.

Seemed like it would have been a good place for a meal and adult beverages but we never had the chance to find out. There was a sign “Wait to be seated” so we waited. The bartenders saw us enter. The server saw us waiting at door. Two other people walked in behind us and they went to tables or bar as they were meeting people there and there was a lot of seating available as we waited. We would have waited a little longer but not one person acknowledged our presence. Maybe it’s a local place only? Maybe they were short staffed? Doesn’t matter a wave of acknowledgment would have been appropriate. So we left and we won’t try to go back. Shame, the menus and pics looked good and the atmosphere was okay but you don’t just ignore people waiting at your door. Glad we left we found a good alternative and their food...

Stayed at the lodge on a road trip. As we were not picky this place was sufficient for the night, but it is rather rough. Beds on the floor, they don't really have a housekeeper so the rooms are what they are. I would consider this more of a hostel with personal rooms instead of group rooms. It wasn't extremely cheap but price was decent. they charge by the person ~$40/person. doesn't matter what room you get. The people were very nice and welcoming. we got their late so the regulars/locals were there and they had plenty of drinks in them. the bartender was very helpful and nice. the owners were also there and very nice. Pretty good location! with a good breakfast place across the street and only like 8 miles from jay peak. For a group of guys on a ski road trip this was a pretty fun...

The best bar.... Switch back on draft & great food.. As starters we had the 50 cent Wing with salt and peber - the best wings we had doing our trip around New England.. and I would say EVER... The main couse was just as GOOD:). we where a big party of 15 and all had diff. main cause and we all left there with the feeling that we had won.. So try the lobster rolls, the Pizza, the Montreal smoked meat Reuben, the burgers etc.. all where Good. The atmosphe are great with live music and wonderful sweet service.. that did not get thrown by the fact we where 9 grown ups and 6 kids that droped in from the street.. I will go back...
