Down For Doughnuts — Restaurant in Mooresville

My husband has been wanting to stop in for months. On Wednesday his dream came true and we did especially since it was his birthday. He wanted birthday donuts instead of a birthday cake. We ordered a dozen donuts. So much variety on their menu. There were a few not available but that was ok. The young lady who attended to us (Leanna: name on receipt) was super sweet and on her game. She could quickly advise what was no longer available and made a quick suggestion which we glady accepted. Best part when the box came out, they wrote happy birthday on it for him and that was so sweet. We ordered the following: 1 nutella iced, 3 cinnamon sugar, 1 vanilla iced, 1 chocolate iced, 1 maple iced, 2 maple bacon, 1 PBJ w/ raspberry filling, 1 blueberry cake and 1 vailla cake. Once in the car 3 were immediately gone. They smelled amazing and were oh so fresh. We were eager fir our girls to get home from school so they could eat there's. They were so happy and devoured them. In the evening we sang happy birthday and ravished the rest. Honestly the best donuts we've ever heard. My husband hasn't stopped talking about them. He's already said we cannot buy donuts anywhere else. He also added that next year, he'll need 2 dozen donuts for his birthday so he has a box for himself. I am not someone who seeks out for donut shops, because in the rare chance that I do try, I am often left disappointed. This also includes those fancy donut shops in urban cities, which are often overpriced and overhyped. I find that most donuts I purchase taste overtly sweet and/or oily (or worse, fried in in the same oil one too many times).

However, I am pleasantly surprised and am so glad to have tried this place. I ordered a maple glazed, vanilla glazed, and chocolate cake donut and, wow! They tasted all so fresh and delicious. The donuts were sweet, but not in a cloying way, and none of the donuts left an oily aftertaste as most donuts do. Workers were also very friendly and welcoming. The price point was beyond reasonable too. There is outdoor bench seating if you wanted to eat right then and there. I am (to my surprise) looking forward to coming back and trying different flavors.

Update: I just read the store's "Our Story" page and am so moved by their mission and purpose. All the more reason for me to visit...

Honestly, this I place is dangerous because I live in the neighborhood across the street and all self control is thrown out the window when I drive by and see the open sign on! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Fresh, made to order donuts with an awesome selection. Amazing staff that has always been so kind. I stopped by at 7:30 the other morning to get fresh donuts for my sons daycare staff. There was already a line but the wait was quick. And honestly I would have waited all day for these treats. I got a glazed 1/2 dozen, mixed 1/2 dozen, a cinnamon roll and a glazed feed fried croissant! The cinnamon roll was the size of my head & delicious! But my favorite was the croissant! WOW!
