Food Lion — Local services in Mooresville

What can you say, it's Food Lion, and you'll never guess, but there is a China Buffett next to it. Hard to believe I know, but it's true :) The store is well kept. A few months ago they got a nice self-checkout. There are not a lot of pre-made foods like some other more high-end grocery stores such as Harris Teeter / Lowes. I do wish they offered more seafood options and meats, but overall you'll most likely find what you're looking for at a decent price.

Update: recently the store did a facelift to the premade meal area along with the checkout. They spruced the place up a bit, but the biggest upgrade was self checkout. I would estimate that there are 8 self checkouts which makes it so much nicer when you only have a few items, but I have used it with a full cart as well. Overall, it's your basic grocery store with a limited meat selection, and the wine and beer is pretty basic as well. But hey, I bet you'd never guess there's a China...

As someone who has worked in a wholesale club, I never gave attitude to any customer the way I was treated by two of your workers. Philadelphia cream cheese on the end cap had a 2/$5, which did not ring up as on sale. First (rudest old lady) said it’s not showing an M on the receipt so it’s not on sale. I explained it was on the end cap. With a eyeroll and a hmmmp she went to the cheese section came back and said “I don’t know what you’re talking about!” I again told her it was on the end cap. With another hmmmp she starts to go back and the other lady said “just give it to her!”. I sure hope many other customers see this sale and have the same expectations of it being on sale and then those two rude women might, but probably not, feel bad for treating a customer this way. SMH. Never did I ever do that in all my years of customer serve....

My husband does the grocery shopping (bless him) but every now and then I go with him and I can tell you that he loves this store. He likes the layout, its clean, he gets in and out quickly and has only commented a couple of times about a product he wishes they carried. We stay on budget by shopping at Food Lion and that keeps me happy and we have a freezer and a pantry that I cant imagine anyone looking through and not finding something they would enjoy. Oh and parking is so EASY, plenty of space. Staff are great as well, when I go I use our own bags and I want them packed "just so", they have never made me feel like I am complicating things, and believe me I...
