I’d like to first say we’ve eaten here a bunch of times and the pizza is great, but tonight I had a very bizarre and bad experience with the staff that I feel compelled to share.
I placed a to-go order at about 7:15pm for two pizzas. Girl on the phone was friendly and said give them about 25 minutes. I show up at 7:40 and there’s a sign on the door that says “store closes at 8:30.” I go to open the door and it’s locked. I knocked on the door, called repeatedly, could see employees inside buzzing around but nobody would answer the phone or the door.
After standing there for about ten minutes, a young couple came up to walk in and I told them the door is locked and nobody will open it or answer the phone. The guy said “a buddy of mine works here, let me call him.” A few seconds later a young employee comes and opens the door and I said “your door is locked” and he said “yeah sorry.”
I walk in and there are two women sitting there waiting for their order and they said “they had the door locked and we had to beat on it too - we’re just trying to get our to go order.” When I walked up to the counter a female employee looked at the guy who opened the door and held her hands up like “why did you do that?” To which I said “I placed a to go order…can I have it or not?” She whipped her head around and walked away. The young guy who unlocked the door checked me out and I left.
I fully understand that employees don’t want to stay past closing time, but it was almost an hour prior to closing AND they accepted my to-go order but didn’t want to let me in to get it. Extremely bizarre. Would love to know if the owner of this place knows how the staff is...
Read moreSince we are new to the area we hadn't had the pleasure of driving near this restaurant. I actually learned about it off the Restaurant.com website and took a peek at the menu and it all looked really good! Today I called in to confirm I could use a couple of Restaurant.com certificates and I was advised I could. I decided to go on their website and join their rewards program. Good thing I did as it earned us a FREE order of garlic knots! I quickly gathered up everyone's food order and called right back. I spoke to Makenzie (sorry if I spelled it wrong) and she was super sweet and helpful. We rushed over to pick up our order and drove back home with the delicious smell of their food. I ordered the Lasagna which came with a garden salad and side of bread. My mother in law ordered the eggplant rollatini which also came with a garden salad and side of bread. My husband ordered the Johnny's deluxe calzone. Our oldest ordered a medium sized meat deluxe pizza and our youngest ordered a chicken bacon ranch wrap (no ranch & no cheese, she's picky). To share we got mild wings, cheese bresdsticks and fried ravioli. Wow wow wow! It was all so so good! This did not disappoint! We are already looking forward to ordering again and this time we might just eat inside. The restaurant was very welcoming and clean. Thank you guys for the amazing dinner we...
Read moreHighly Disappointed! I've been a fan of Johnny B's for many years having been introduced to the chain in Memphis, where I enjoyed their pizza and salad for many years. Having just relocated to Mooresville, I was excited to see one here. I have been to the Mooresville location 5 times now in the last month since I moved, and am disappointed with the extreme poor value at this franchise. They skimp on ingredients at every opportunity and charge full prices. Perhaps the GM is a finance person before being a restauranteur. Ask for an extra marinara (served in a 2 oz salad dressing cup), and you get charged for it. The 'large' salad that you pay $10 for is served in a soup bowl- the kind with a wide diameter but small bowl area in the center. I paid $5 for lemon cake to go which was a broken piece that came in 2 sections and amounted to maybe 3 oz of cake. The pizzas have little to no cheese, and you pay $2 or more for toppings that amount to a scarce sprinkling (mushrooms in this case). Sorry folks, but you have lost me as a customer. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff is great, but $20 (before tip and beverages) for a salad, garlic bread with marinara and 1/4 of a piece of broken cake is not fine...
