The meat was very dry and definitely overcooked. Got some Brunswick stew and it tasted a lot like chili with dry brisket in it. The flavor of the stew itself was good though, just tastes like chili. The pulled pork was super dry on the sandwich. We got a dirty spoon with our meal, like I'm talking this thing was covered in jam and we didn't order anything that had purple jam. Our waitress was taking a decade to get anything to us. We sat for about 20 minutes before she ever came to ask us what we wanted to drink. The restaurant was not busy at all. Only about 5 tables had people at them. We ordered our food at the same time we ordered our drinks just in case she decided not to come back. Took another 20 minutes for our food. Then we waited a while for the check. Overall we were in here for a solid hour and 15 minutes during a relatively slow hour of the day. I don't know if she was having extended conversations in the back or why she was being so slow but someone needs to work on that. Everytime she came out of the back there was nothing in her hands so I'm not sure why she was back there so long anyways.

Just a few miles and minutes south of Indianapolis is Squealers in Mooresville, who’s sign claims they have “Indiana’s Best Barbeque.” With a claim like that, you better be able to deliver. While I have not eaten at every BBQ joint in Indiana, Squealers does deliver on their claim and have won many awards over the years for their efforts. The meats include brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, ribs, rib tips and more. Squealers also bottles their sauces, which you can buy onsite. I have introduced several people to Squealers and no one has ever waddled away disappointed or hungry. I do wish, however, there was a better fish option than batter-fried. With such great smoked meats available, they are missing out on some delicious smoked, blackened, and grilled fish options. When I am in the mood for good BBQ, I will drive out of my way for Squealers and you should too. Pictured here is the pulled pork (my favorite), the sampler platter, and the brisket melt. This is an independent, uncompensated review.

Excellent brisket and smoked turkey with tasty sides. Plenty of food in the meal. The brisket was moist and had a good smoky flavor. The turkey was also well smoked but not quite as moist, which is typical of smoked turkey in general. The sweet BBQ sauce was very good and complemented the meat. I also had green beans and coleslaw. The green beans were made with bacon and had a very good flavor. The coleslaw was what I would consider average and nothing really special, slightly reminiscent of canned. Now the fried biscuits with apple butter was an addictive item in itself. Two biscuits came with the meal along with a very small amount of apple butter. I would like to have had an option for additional biscuits but at $1 per each extra it was not worth it to me. By the way the Apple butter was good on the meat. The price for the meal was a bit on the high side. Based on my experience I would visit here again.

Me & my husband stopped by wanting to try their BBQ on a saturday afternoon. Wasn't too busy but they didn't have a table ready yet. So we sat at the bar to have a drink while we waited for a table. There were two young women behind the bar, they saw we sat down but ignored us. We sat there looking around for about 5 minutes before my husband asked another girl could we get a drink? The girl threw down a couple of bev naps asked us what we wanted an walked away? A couple more minutes went by when someone else came up to us and said our table was ready. Then the one girl comes back and proceeds to make our drinks. We told her we were moving to a table she said she would bring us our drinks. It took her almost 12 minutes from the time we ordered or drinks for her to bring them to us. Then she had the nerve to give me a dirty look for only tipping her a dollar? After 12 minutes of waiting? Our waitress finally came to the table, took our order and went straight to another table and began talking up a storm to these other people. I know she was there for 15 minutes talking before she even turned in our order. (I timed her) I finally hollared over there to her and asked could we at least get our appitizer out? She acted like we were bothering her? Ordered another drink, same senerio, waited again forever, because she was talking away to another table. I finally got up to go to the bar myself. She quickly came running up to me explaining how she was going to get it. I looked at her and told her to forget it, i would get it myself and walked away from her. She knew she had lost her tip by that point. She was rude to us the rest of the time we were there. All & all, the service was horrible. The drinks were weak and the food wasn't very good at all. We left very disappointed. No manager came around the whole time to check on anybody. The place looked more like a barn, not very clean. I have been a server both in fine dinning and casual dinning for over 20 years now and i can't help but be very observant of things. This place by far is has all of the worst things going for them. Bad, bad service, mismamagement, uncleanlyness. Now i know why their not busy on a saturday! We deffenatly...

I normally love this place. I always talk it up. Best BBQ in Indy. But today was a disappointment to say the least. We waited 5 minutes to be seated. The hostess had no enthusiasm. She was blank faced and didn’t say hello to anyone. Once we got seated. It took 10 to 15 minutes just for a server to come over and say “I’m not your server, but I’m here to get you drinks.” Got our drinks with no straws. Then waited another 5 minutes for Lora, our actual server, to come take our order. We only saw her 5 times the entire time. She never once asked how everything was. She seemed disinterested and had no pep in her step. Not sure if it was just a bad day or what. But the service was horrendous. The ribs were good (as always) but barley had any BBQ sauce on them when I ordered them wet. My wife had the tenderloin with fries. She got about 12 fries with the order and had to wait a good while to get our drinks refilled. Our 2 year olds kids meal had 0 BBQ sauce on his pork sandwich. I’m not one to complain, but I’ve been to this location MANY times and this is the first bad experience I have had. But it was bad enough to make me want to go to the 86th street location next time to see if they have better service. As we were leaving, we saw the sign saying “Hiring waiters, cooks, dish staff, and hosts” so maybe that was the issue but I was so...

I am seriously angry right now. I dined in and the food was good, service was good too. I spent around $70, tipped 20%. I ordered a spud to take home for dinner. I just opened it... Huge! BUT... Not even a teaspoon of sour cream or butter. Not even 1/4 cup of pulled pork, barely any cheese. So Angry. I wanted this bad enough that I ordered it for my dinner after eating bbq in the restaurant and now I'm so disappointed I don't even want it. I could have fixed myself a plain, dry baked potato in my microwave and saved myself the disappointment and $. By the way I was in today. My to go ticket # was 238 and my check number was 4228. My waitress was Samantha( she was awesome and very busy ). 03:02 P.M. on the ticket. Just an FYI for the future.. When a person orders to go, the food should be prepared exactly as it would be in the restaurant. Do not skimp! Because now I doubt I ever come back and I have over 2000 friends on FB who each have at least 500 friends each etc.. It is really too bad because the food I had in the restaurant was great. Service too. But what I'm supposed to do with this giant dry potato is beyond me. I don't have butter or sour cream in my fridge right now. And I certainly don't have pulled pork. So I guess I wasted my money and it goes to...
