Che Gelato! — Restaurant in Moorpark

Visited my mom and decided to stop by here after dinner for a little dessert.

The gelato was high quality—super fresh, and honestly, very, very good. The owner, Natalie, was incredibly welcoming and even walked us through which flavors contained eggs (only three) and which were dairy-free. That kind of attention to detail stood out.

I sampled the dulce de leche and loved it, but ultimately went with pistachio and chocolate—because, unfortunately, I’m afflicted with always committing to those two. Call it a lack of imagination or just being a creature of habit. My mom picked the Nutella, which was also delightful.

We went around 8 p.m., and the place was completely empty. While chatting, we both noticed how clean and thoughtfully designed the space was—definitely gave off a charming Tuscan or Riviera vibe. We did lament the location a bit—it’s a ways out from suburban Moorpark—but it’s absolutely worth the drive from Tierra Rejada.

Bonus points: they’ve got a freezer stocked with gelato pints to-go.

All in all, we were impressed by the service, the presentation, and the flavors. I’d recommend it to anyone in Moorpark or Simi—make the trip out to Collins, support a lovely small business, and treat yourself to some seriously fresh and flavorful gelato.

I went to Moorpark College for a bit, and back then this might’ve been just outside my price range—but I could totally see stopping here after an exam, or bringing a cute date to enjoy a scoop in the cozy, romantic space...

If you are craving for a great Gelato flavor and want to try a new flavor or you already know it and were looking for the best dulce de leche gelato in California do not waste more time. Che Gelato is the place...and it is fresh. It is not one of those that come from a Corporate location. CHE Gelato is unique and I do not exagerate. If you haven't tried dulce de leche before, this would be a great introduction to the flavour. If you like caramel, you will probably enjoy this, especially if you have a sweet tooth like me. Besides the "dulce de leche" they have other flavors and they are all made fresh and with great-quality ingredients. The owners Nati and Roberto are great. Their customer service matches the great quality flavors and the great vibe of this just-opened place in Moorpark Go and try it. You won't regret...

Super amicable staff!! They just opened and their story is so rich! I got to meet the owners per the picture! Such great people! The authentic flavor in their gelato is so delicious! I got to try all of their flavors (they're all very tasteful) but I had to stick with the vanilla flavor gelato on a sugar cone because wow!! I can't remember the last time I had gelato that was that pure, fresh, and authentic as Che Gelato's. It's in a great plaza/community and walking distance from Moorpark College.
