My husband and I had our first vacation together in 17 years without kids. We've never been here before. I will have to say that a local tried to warn us not to go here. But we didn't listen, we will definitely listen to the locals more. We were very excited. We arrived to St. Ignace later in the evening. This is one of the few options that was still open by the time we got into town. We both ordered the prime rib hot beef" shaved prime served with mashed potatoes and sourdough bread" it was off the dinner menu. What came to us was a shaved prime rib sandwich and awful looking mashed potatoes. I specifically asked for no gravy. Everything was doused in gravy! So he said, they were making my dish new. But I said, I don't understand we got sandwiches. We ordered the dinner, not the sandwich. I like that the mashed potatoes had their red skins still in them. But they look like they had been cooked too hard or left under the heater and they were hard.Even crunchy in some places. And they were brown, not a nice, creamy, white, like mashed potatoes should be. He felt really bad and apologized and asked if I wanted something else. But at this point, the grease was really hurting my stomach. Because the shave prime rib inside the sandwich was so salty and greasy, it was disgusting. The waiter was confused. Whoever we'll have to say he was super sweet and none of it was his fault! In fact, he did take my dish off of our check! I have a picture but I don't know how to put it on here. It took forever to get our food and then we had to wait longer to get the other food they had to remake. And the cheese curds were great! I see. That other reviews are good, so I don't know what happened. Really...
Read moreWe thought we were being pranked on an episode of "Bar Rescue". Arrived at 6:30 pm, a voice from across the room said "find your own seat". It was moderately busy, but tables were available. After several minutes a woman in a pink sweat shirt instructed a server to help us as she sat at the bar. The young lady eventually came and took our drink order, a draft beer and an ice water. Ten minutes later, a gentleman came from behind the bar with the beer while I continued to wait for my water. At 6:55 our server came back with my water and took our food order. That was the last time we saw her. Finally at 7:35, I flagged a guy down and inquired about why 40 minutes had passed for a burger and pastrami sandwich. As we stood up to leave, the wrong burger arrived, 5 minutes later the sandwich came. During all this, the bar manager Mike, entertained himself across from us with a shot of tequila (after going in back to get a special bottle) with the lady in the pink sweat shirt and a guest. He then had a bottle of beer, went to the kitchen, got a burger, had another beer delivered and had a snack. Finally, we flagged Cory, the bartender over. He saw the wrong burger, listened to our complaints about service and satisfaction with the quality of the food (although not what we ordered). You can't make this up! We are local and understand why only tourists and close friends go to...
Read moreI went into Johnnie’s on 2 with my brother for dinner. We were sat at a table rather quickly; however, the service was unbelievable horrible. Our waitress came over to our table to get our drink order. Before telling her what we wanted she interrupted and walked away to help another group. We were shook at how rude she interrupted and stormed off. She came back a second time after my brother indicated to her we were ready to order. My brother stated to order a burger when she interrupted once more and said “give me a minute”. I spoke up and said “we have given you a minute”. We then tried to confront her and ask why she was helping the other table who came in after us but couldn’t be bothered to take our order. She respond in a very snarky way and told us the other table was here first, which was a lie as we were here ten minute before them. When we caught her in this lie she grabbed our menus and told us to leave before storming off. I was thoroughly looking forward to having a nice dinner at Johnnie’s on 2 with my brother however the attitude and actions of our server ruined our dinner there. While eating at a restaurant there are more important things than the quality of the food. Service matters too, and Johnnie’s on 2 is without a doubt lacking on good service. I am very disappointed with our experience and the way we...
