I've had my fair share of pasties from all over the state and Sposito's just made the top of my list. We had the beef pasties and a cherry pie pasty. Both were great!

The beef pasty was a traditional mix of meat and veg, which made me so happy. The filling was moist and flavorful with a crust that wasn't too thick or dry. It came out piping hot and served with a big cup of brown gravy. This is one of the few pasties I feel like didn't actually need gravy but I really appreciated how generous they were with it. Also, the pasty itself was big and so filling that I took the other half to go.

The cherry pie pasty was also large enough to share. It was nice and flaky, topped with dollops of sugary frosting. The filling had whole charries and wasn't too sweet.

Inside, the dining area was cute and intimately scaled with views to Lake Michigan. Restrooms were clean and smelled nice. Picnic tables were available outside as well.

Overall, it was a solid pit stop on our road trip. We left full, satisfied, and looking forward to...

MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT: I couldn't drive 2min away without pulling over to DEVOUR this AMAZING food!!! (Thx MI roads for the nice shoulder to pull over on)Then I drove 7 ft, pulled over, & ate some more, drove 7ft, pulled over & ate some more. I never even got my ketchup packets opened hahaha I've, just this year, tried all of the local pastie shops, fer fun& while they are all, individually great, Spositos is just Upper level. 😛 Both times I've ordered, for just me: a meat, a veggie, and a dessert pastie. The frosting & filling on the dessert ones are to die for! & I say that as a 13 yr veteran pastry chef. The meat ones: perfect simplicity & the veggie ones were so uniquely exceptional! You cant quite put yer finger on what makes them all so good! Anyway Who gives a review unless it's that great? I do! Thank you for feeding me for two days! It would have been 3 days if i could've controlled myself😅 Best food EVER Thank you! Also, one dessert pastie isn't enough. If you try to lie to yourself, you'll remember reading...

Allow me to ENLIGHTEN you. These are the best pasties you will ever have! I have been going to the U.P. since I was a child and I lamented Suzie's retirement. I was left with Lehtos (blech) I discovered Spositis on my last trip back from Grand Marais, I was ready to be disappointed yet again, and I cannot tell you what a delightful surprise it was to not just had have Suzy meet her match, but I'm pretty sure it's blasted out of the water. YOU HAVE TO COME HERE. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE. ESPECIALLY if it's your first pastie. Anything else is a poor imitation. The dessert pasties are OH soooo good too. I really can't say enough about this location. I bought 8 additional frozen pasties. Don't forget, they will ship you pasties! This means us trolls don't have to drive 7 hours from the lower peninsula to get the best pasties...

Sposito’s Pasties is an Upper Peninsula gem! Cross the Mighty Mac and head west on US-2-/ just a few miles down the road is a “must stop” for lunch. They offer traditional beef pasties, vegetable pasties, and, on the day we visited, they had a special chicken pastie. We opted for the traditional beef—the filling was tender, moist, and flavorful, with a delicious crust. Add a side of gravy for the win! I was more than halfway through the pastie before I thought about snapping a pic. Sorry—but I think some other reviews may have a pic of the pasties. You can dine in or outside or take home these frozen delights for later. They also offer fudge, sweet bakery treats, and assorted t-shirts, mugs, etc. Neat, clean and a friendly staff! Would definitely swing in again and enjoy Sposito’s Pasties. Delish!

The vegetarian pasties at Sposito's are delicious! The crust is perfect and the filling is flavorful. I haven't had a good vegetarian pasty in a long time, and was so glad we stopped here. We will definitely be back. The service was friendly and quick, and everything was very clean. There are souvenirs, fudge, maple syrup products, produce and used books for sale. There is a beverage cooler with drinks. They have a couple of tables inside and several picnic tables outside. Restroom has an outside entrance. I couldn't find an outside trash can, though, and there was no shade at the picnic tables, so some umbrellas would be nice. It was fairly busy when we were there, so parking was sort of a free-for-all.
