Took my family here from overseas for a dinner meal. They were extra busy, but made sure we were attended to in a friendly and polite manner despite being rushed off their feet. Dinner was delicious as it always is at Nachos, and the servings were a good size too, not too big, but not too small either. There is something about simple foods done very well, and Nachos excels at them. Food was fresh, hot, well cooked and delicious! My son in law who has never eaten proper Mexican food before, wolfed his plate down in minutes, it was so good. Thats definitely a testament to well seasoned, yummy Nachos food ! If you're looking for a trendy, "woke" restaurant where you can order the latest vegan recipes served on cardboard and stones...don't come here. Nachos is a down to earth, genuine Mexican restaurant that specialises in making customers stomachs full and happy. The decor is basic, earthy and no frills... its ALL about the food here! and rightly so. So if you're travelling through Moriarty and you are hungry or hankering for a hot plate of genuine food, stop in at Nachos, have a seat, and get stuck into a plate of hot, fluffy Sopapillas with honey... or whatever takes...
Read moreThe New Mexico stretch of Route 66 has the best Mexican food in the the US, and Nachos in Moriarty is top-tier. We loved the Green Chile Stew (tender pork, Hatch green chile, potato, and onion and served with fresh tortillas), which was full of flavor and the best we'd ever had. We also LOVED the Flat Enchiladas (cheese and onion and topped with an over-easy egg), which I ordered with both spicy red and mellow green chile (sauce). Both delicious! The Refried Beans, Tortilla Chips and Salsa, and EVEN the Rice were all yummy. Service by kindhearted Ruby was faultless--efficient and quick. When we asked if we could buy a couple pints of the Green Chile Stew and the Red Chile sauce to take home, Ruby swiftly packaged our items to go. (This kind of request often gives servers pause.) She even translated my husband's compliments to the chef. Wonderful...
Read moreWe were looking forward to finding a good restaurant in the area but we were very disappointed. There was only one waitress and took some time to order. We got chips and salsa but the chips seemed a little old as some were stale (longe rectangular ones, the triangle shaped one were fine, both were mixed together) We ordered at the same time as another couple who showed right before us. 50 minutes later we still had no food even though all tables had been served (even one that showed 35min after us). The waitress explanation was that she didnt know what was happening with our food…… Our order was not complicated (burritos, enchiladas and menudo which was the special for the day). Bottom line, we waisted a bunch of time and didnt get any food. Nobody cared to check on our order even though it was obvious we had not been served. We are...
