We've been traveling for a few days, so this review has had time to "marinate" a little. I am going to give a no holds barred review. Positives and negatives. Online reservation, holiday weekend should be disclosed. When we arrived, we were welcomed by the front desk staff at the front door. There were fireworks being shot at the BBQ place next door and we were told that they could not be shot on the property, which probably had something to do with them being shot right at the curb next door. The lobby area was clean and staff helpful. Noted no public restrooms. When we got all checked in, we were notified there is no elevator. This is a huge thing to note when making futiure reservations. We asked to be moved to a downstairs room, if available. Staff notified us that the only room downstairs was a pet friendly room and we accepted. I'm ok with pets. Negatives: Property is dated. The room was, um, quaint, and the carpet was stained but hey, its a pet friendly room so I would expect some stains. I was happy enough. Breakfast was with tickets for the COVID acceptable "take-a-frozen-sandwich and a juice". This was the only Choice hotel we had tickets in. Again, acceptable to me. I'm not there for breakfast. What alarmed me was the window in the room opened to a dark hallway in what appeared to be the pool area. I learned this from the map on the door. Again, while I was hesitant, we had been accommodated into a room that was available that probably wasn't at the top of the list for booking, so I was okay. If I were traveling alone, I probably would have went elsewhere simply for that. I made sure my child was aware that the window would not be the choice for a fire exit and made sure the window was shimmed where it couldn't open from the hallway. Positives-The beds are super plush. It was quiet and the ac worked. Overall really, I was not upset with the stay. We stayed another night in a Choice hotel in a bigger city and paid what was almost the same amount as this stay. I was ok with the stay and staff, bit it was a but pricey for the experience. Staff was wonderful and beds were super soft, so that is worth...
Read moreThe manager spent a lot of time attending to her dog and a cat I needed a tub type room due to a medical condition i got there and there was a line of people waiting to be checked in. The gal said that she had me in a handicapped room i told her i didn't want a disabled room that has a shower i needed a regular room with a bath. She said yes you have a bathtub. The manager was right there when we were talking. I get to my room. No bathtub just a shower. So I called the front desk and said there was a problem that I did not have a bathtub. She said she was super busy and she would fix it I waited till ten pm. I went to the front desk at 6 am and reported the problem. The gentleman said he needed me to wait and talk to the relief person The manager said we have no rooms with bathtubs.there were none last night and there are no rooms today. There was an angel of a man who came to my aid named Robert Valazquez. Mind you it was 7 am and I had been told by the manager said literally all her rooms were full Robert easily moved me to a room with a bathtub and I paid for my room for the second time as it was not my intention to be compt a room I sincerely hope that you make mr Velazquez the manager he just made my day as far as the manager and I use the term lightly said "not my problem you get what you get" so I called hotels.com and they said the hotel had the ability to clear up the confusion so bottom line how did mr Velasquez find me a room with a bathtub at 7 am if according to the manager all the rooms with bathtubs were occupied still and there were no rooms for me I have 1100 miles to drive still. I drove 650 miles last night. I wanted to stay at your hotels along the way but the manager made me cry and made a horrible decision not to let me change rooms. If it were not for mr Velasquez I would not be staying another night. The room was lovely except for...
Read moreOur stay was awful from the time we walked in. We were told a different total price than what we were charged. We were told there were no adjoining rooms so she put us on the 1st level and then she said she had adjoining rooms on the second level and then she ended up putting us on the 1st level anyways. I had to remind her to give me my ID back. She gave us the wrong room and we walked in on a man changing and then when I said I expect a discount or refund she said she’d already given me a 15% discount on the room when we checked in. And I said no that’s not enough and that’s what you gave us before an inexcusable mistake was made. The employee said they would give us a 50% discount when her manager came in that morning. The employee never came down the hall to stop us even though she knew of her mistake and said she’d been trying to cancel the room key card. There was plenty of time to stop us and correct her mistake before we got to our incorrect room. When I spoke to the general manager the next morning she would’nt even honor the 50% discount her employee that night said they would do for us and she was very condescending to me and said if we were that uncomfortable that I wanted a refund or discount that we could have left to go somewhere else but we didn’t. There’s like 4 hotels in Moriarty, it was 3am and we weren’t reloading all our luggage and pregnant sister-in-law once more so we just deadbolted the door. She said we could stand there all day and argue or I could just take the discount she was willing to give to us. I have NEVER had something happen like this to me in 25 years of traveling. Pay the little bit extra money to stay at the Best Western...
