How oh why can they get 4 stars overall but get 5 stars on everything? Analysis paralysis.

Don’t get me wrong - I really do love every thing about this store. The coffee is great, the other drinks are great, the cookies are something that should have songs written about them. But every time I order it takes me 15 minutes - thankfully I can order online reliably.

It seems simple - coffee hot or cold? But then comes 20 questions: do you want cream? How much? What kind? ; want a seasonal flavor? (6 options) want a set flavor? (25 flavors) want to make your own flavor? (Seems like 30 syrups and you can add up to like 5 - so 30^5 - lots of flavors) ; want to add some vitamins? Powder? — 🤯🤯🤯 —

Ok maybe just a cookie? Regular or stuffed? 8 options each … 😭

No more options. Can I just get a Mocha and a chocolate chip cookie? We don’t have espresso and 4 options of chocolate chip cookies. 🫠

If you can make choices without having to think about other options this place is great - you can just always order your favorite and the food is really, truly amazing. But from those of us that overthink things the menu is a trap - because everything is good.

I don’t know how to end this. Please offer less options? Have a rotating menu that gives me specific choices? I don’t know. I _ don’t _ know.

As far as I have found there are no wrong choices, so it’s a great place to try just whatever...

We tried Sweet Joy when my kids started going to school nearby. It quickly became one of those places that feels like a best kept secret. As a coffee, cold brew, and sweet tooth lover, the selection is some of the best I’ve encountered. The flavors of cookie hit the spot and with an ever evolving selection, there is always something new to try. Yet more than just the various custom creations that Sweet Joy offers, it’s also the eclectic selection of goods and cheery atmosphere that makes it stand out as one of those coffee stops that need to be stopped at, enjoyed and savored. Along with the various kitchen towels boasting hilarious sayings, little gift packages for teachers, stickers, candy and custom made tumblers, there’s a cheeriness that mixes with an underlying hilarity that comes from the strong sense of community. Sweet Joy is the kind of place I’d stop if I were a traveler passing through because it’s a coffee shop that serves delicious coffee and boasts much of the community’s creative endeavors. My husband was involved with the renovation upgrades to MAC in 2018, though we had never been back, so we toured yesterday. It happened to be the grand re-opening of sweet joy, so my husband and I decided to get coffees and cookies for our kids. It’s adorable, with plenty of kind, smiling staff. However, it is WAY too expensive. There were no prices listed on the cookies. A few “standard” cookies and once that was listed as “stuffed”. Two medium iced coffees later, $38. Let’s assume each cookie is $5. I’m basing this on competitors prices for a single cookie, none of which is $5. That means each medium coffee was close to $9. If those coffees were the best I’ve had in a while, I wouldn’t take the time to make this review. They were flavored cold brew coffees. The flavors sounded so good, but what we received was 80% ice and flavorless. Whip is .75 extra. That should be free. No one charges extra for that. We would have loved to have left feeling like this was a place we would go to, regularly, but they have greatly missed the...
