This review has nothing to do with the service because Olympia has the best service in all of Mount Airy. We have been coming to Olympia for a long time and I don’t know what has happened to the food but it has seriously gone down hill. The last time we came, I couldn’t eat my dinner because it was so sweet. Ground steak is not supposed to be sweet. We’ll, we came tonight and I was so hungry. I ordered hamburger steak with brown gravy, mashed potatoes with gravy, Mac and cheese, and pears. I hate to say it but this was nasty. The brown gravy was so sweet and brown gravy is no supposed to be sweet at all. When you make brown gravy there isn’t a sweet ingredient in it. The gravy ruin the hamburger steak and the mashed potatoes. The pears were bad too. They were dark yellow and had a very weird taste. I was very apprehensive about coming back here tonight because of the last time we came but after that nasty meal we will not be back for sometime. Now, I have them 2 stars instead of 1 because they were super nice and e didn’t charge us for my meal which was really kind. As I stated before Olympia probably has the...
Read moreThis is the type of place I love to visit, small, family run eateries. The plates are small but they are full of food. I could not finish the two pieces of tender marinated chicken, delicious mashed potatoes, savory green beans and lettuce-only salad, all on one small plate but, man was it so good! I had the cornbread to go with the meal and it complemented the meal. The place was busy and we waited beside a table to be cleaned and within minutes we were seated and a server took our order. We were a party of four who all ordered something different from the menu but the orders came to us in no time. Placement of the restrooms was a little odd. They were located right across from dinner tables so when you come out, you're almost face-to-face with diners! All in all, great place, great food,...
Read moreBusy right at lunch rush but staff was calm, friendly, and food was devine! Small place but seating was no problem as customers mostly seemed to be employed nearby and took their lunch break there, so quick customer turn over. No rush to those who stayed longer and enjoyed coffee or deserts and good company. We had the Reuben sandwiches without the dressing, and fries, with sweet tea. Wonderful!! One of the best reubens ever and fries that where straight cut and not dripping grease or over salted. After I had a cup of coffee that was wonderful. Full flavored even though it was fresh made and I loved their cups! Perfect size for a cup of coffee not a giant mug. Service was wonderful, I cannot emphasize that enough. All in all, a completely satisfying meal and trip...
