First, I will start off by saying that this WAS one of my favorite places to take my family for lunch or dinner.
I always get the prime rib.(It’s very good) . The rest of the family typically switches it up nowadays it is hit or miss. I’m not sure if the staff in the kitchen changed or what. Food today was ok (according to my family but my prime rib was still excellent!)
Now why I am writing this one star review, it was MANAGEMENT!! And I PRAY the owner or decision makers see this and take my comment seriously because I was in the service industry for a long time
Not only in the service industry but all industries it is important for management to maintain great customer service, but also be great supporters for their staff, (and this location seems to be struggling with keeping adequate staffing.)
My daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter from Charleston came in for the weekend and this was their goodbye lunch before they hit the road.
We had a party of 10. Originally we were told it would be a 45 minute wait until we said we were OK sitting at separate tables but close together (we had our table within 15 minutes after that).
We put the “kids” ages 9-20 at one table adults at the other.
The server came to take our drink orders, and then an extremely rude manager shows up named Chanda, to tell us that if we are on the same ticket we must sit at the same table it’s “how the system is” because we had 2 servers who would manage our party.
I asked if we could just add the people who we were paying for on our ticket to our table and the others to the other table?
Chanda refused and I want to irriderate she was EXTREMELY RUDE!!!(For the record we had 3 “tickets” which is typical of you have ever been in the service industry) she also let us know we would be “taking food from the servers mouth “ by asking to add people to other tickets:
In college, I was a server.and have a good understanding of the industry My 20 yr old daughter is a server who was with us today and my 19 year old niece who is with us. Today is also a server. Being in this industry is hard BUT with terrible management can make it impossible
To shorten this 7 people were forced into one table while the other had 3 (and a high chair) and I wanted to immediately leave but wanted to spend the last hour with my family without having to find another restaurant.
If this is a policy, I believe the decision-makers should consider changing that since there is not adequate seating for large parties.
Also Chanda is NOT an adequate manager or leader someone was applying for a position was left sitting for 45 minutes. She took her application was also very rude to her. You will never get employees that way!!!
Your management team could use some training on customer service and how to treat your employees because they are not giving good customer service and they are also not treating employees or potential employees fairly.
I want to follow that up by saying that our waitress was top notch and gave great customer service today, although we were packed into her table...
Read moreI will start by saying it was a really nice weekend in February and maybe they were not prepared for the crowd... additionally my husband and I are pretty easy going and understanding people. We arrived and told the wait for a table was an hour to an hour and a half even though we counted at least 10 empty tables in view from the hostess stand. Many of which hadn't been cleaned off. Seating at the bar was first come first serve and it was packed, but we were able to get two stools after just a few minutes of waiting. The two bartenders were not able to handle a fully packed bar inside and out. We weren't in a rush so it wasn't that big of a deal, however the bartenders picked up and served every single pint/wine glass, etc. with their fingers at the top of the glass where the customers lips went. It was disgusting to sit and watch this for over an hour on every single drink prepared. The one bartender had a nasty shredded Band-Aid on her finger which made it more disgusting. There was never a manager to be found. For as busy as they were, two waitresses were out in the parking lot... on smoke break near the dumpsters when we arrived and when I went to wash my hands one was in the bathroom texting on her cell phone. Yet, customers waiting outside for tables that were clearly empty and not being seated. Again, I was not in a rush and we tried to be understanding, but then there was attitude when we ask for our check or politely reminded the bartender that we needed a refill or ketchup. We had to flag down the waitress bringing out our food, because the bartender wasn't there to inform her of whom the order was for. We had to go obtain our own silverware under the hostess stand after requesting some from the bartender and then not receiving it, and the waitress just put our food in front of me and then reached across me to hand my husbands food to him, how is that easier than walking around to the other side of me?!?! And then turned and walked off... not a word from her, even after we said thanks. It was our first time there and from the other reviews it sounds like this may have been just a poorly staffed afternoon. The food was great so we will try it again for that reason and just hope the service is better next time. It would be sad to see this restaurant suffer because of poorly trained, rude and understaffed wait...

We have a boat in the marina next door to the restaurant now and we put it in the slip over the weekend. Friday we had take out from here, food was good but they forgot my order and had to reorder it even though I was still sitting there watching them. Saturday we went and had a great time with good food and nice friends however the outdoor bartender was not the friendliest (a young blond girl) but that was fine we still managed to get everything. Now, on Sunday that was the worst experience we have ever had. We sat at the bar since seating was limited and the girl brought us menus and got us water. We placed an order and waited 45 mins when everyone around us started getting their food and we didn't get anything we asked what was going on with our order. At 1st the bartender with dark hair said I didn't take your order and tried to blame it on the other bartender that we love and we both said no you took it so she said oops I guess I didn't put it in. No apology, no offer to put it in now, nothing. I guess I can accept that accidents happen and she forgot but she asked us our name several times and went and checked the computer and went through her note pad like she was checking on our order status. So if she looked for our name and there was nothing in the computer with our name why didn't she notice there was no order. Why would she have even looked for our name if we only had water. It just didn't make sense. I think she forgot the order but didn't want to tell us that so she waited until we asked her so she could blame someone else. I would have rather her tell us she made a mistake and fix it then lead us to believe we would get food soon. If we hadn't asked we would still prob be there with no food. If this had been our 1st time there we would never go back but as it is one of our favorites and right beside the marina we have our boat in we will return just not let her wait on us even if we have to move from the bar and wait...
