Overall experience and food was sub par and poor. We took our family for dinner, with reservations for 5:30. The restaurant was not busy and maybe seven tables of patrons. The draft beers were served and were near room temperature and waitress forgot the waters. We ordered two kids meals, pasta and a hot dog, both were over priced, $8.00 each. The two other meals were pizza and a hoagie, both nothing special nor any special requests, the food took over 1-hour!! The waitress said they were busy earlier... The hoagie was bland with no seasoning or mayonnaise. The pizza had absolutely no flavor to it. We ordered the Amato’s pizza which has sauce, cheese, cherry tomatoes and red onion. No flavor to any of it. Trips were made to both the men’s and women’s restrooms. The changing table in the women’s room was falling off the wall and the men’s room didn’t even have a changing table. The sinks and urinals in the men’s room were not functional. The table next to us had issues with a coupon, instead of the owner or manager coming to the table to speak with the patrons or remedy the situation he stood in near the pizza oven and threw his hands up. TERRIBLE customer service and what a way to lose 6 people from that table for future visits. They were extremely disappointed.
After seeing the mismanagement, our poor food, and experience, we will definitely not return. Our bill was over $75.00, I could have went to a decent steak house with much better food and service for this price. I would not recommend this...
Read moreSleepy little Mount Joy is the perfect place for a sleepy little pub. I tried this place with a friend on a Monday just before noon & we were the first customers to arrive. Others trickled in as we were well into our meal. Normally I take an empty parking lot an hour after opening as a bad sign for a restaurant, but we were pleasantly surprised.
The dining room & bar offer an assortment of daily specials, some overlapping & others separate. Monday is Wing Day in both. With a score of sauces to choose from, we ordered 4 dozen to get variety and planned for leftovers. (The special is dine-in only, but there is no rule against a doggy bag.) The wings themselves are $6/meaty dozen. We skipped the celery & blue cheese to save a couple bucks, which went to fund $2 Yingling drafts instead.
Some of the sauces are commercially produced. But our favorite that we tried was the house-made honey barbecue. The base is a molasses-forward, smokey flavor that gets a nice pop from the addition of honey. The honey mustard was insanely creamy; I am inclined to think it's due to a mayonnaise base. That was just too rich for our tastes. The sweet chili & bourbon sauces are better quality commercial products. We will probably try some different flavors next time, but we will definitely get more honey barbecue.
As for when we will be back, I imagine it will be in less than a month. Whether it is for wings again or one of their other reasonably priced specials, only...
Read moreFirst time here and good. was pleasantly surprised. I really didn't expect much as we never really heard any good reviews about this place from anyone we knew. I will say we were there on a Sunday early evening so not sure how it plays into everything. first of all we had wonderful service. Not only was the waitress attentive but everyone there would pitch in to see if we needed anything when they passed. Food was a tad slow but honestly is was very good. We tried a make your own style burger w/fries and a BLT. Burger was AWESOME and loved we had an option for the roll. Literally cooked to perfection. The Blt while seeming simple is something I order out all the time from places but easily messed up at some restaurants. This place made it perfect. Toast was toasted but not too much, bacon was crispy and lettuce was fresh. We also did the shrimp 2o cent special( great idea by the way) and we both loved our picks. The cocktail sauce was obviously homemade and pretty darn good. This time we did basic food as we weren't sure how it was all going to go, but next time we will definitely try bigger and more adventurous meals. As a final note... Love all the crazy specials all week. Thought this was a great way to make patrons try different things they might not...
