Casa Azul Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Mount Juliet

What a horrible experience. We arrived at 9:15 PM and were seated right away. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas, which tasted awful. When we asked if they could fix it, they charged us an extra $3 just to add sweet and sour mix — seriously? On top of that, it was irresponsible of them to even allow us to order a full pitcher that close to closing. Had we known they’d immediately start shutting down the restaurant as soon as we sat down, we never would have ordered it.

The moment we sat down, they turned on all the lights and started cleaning and moving tables around us, as if they were just waiting for us to leave. That’s just common sense and hospitality — clearly lacking here.

The food was mediocre, and the service was subpar. Our server didn’t even know what goes into a margarita or what kind of tequila they used. That’s unacceptable.

I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, and I can honestly say this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. The owner really needs to take a look at how this place is being run.

I regret not taking pictures of my wonderful experience at Casa Azul but I will certainly be returning and will capture photos then. I visited this culturally captivating and delicious restaurant for the first time this past Tuesday. The atmosphere was clean, welcoming, and warm. The customer service was excellent! We had the pleasure of being served by the owner’s son who was fun and knowledgeable of the restaurant’s history and menu. We tried many flavors of the margaritas and each one was made with intention and so good! Of note, I had their quesabirria tacos—decadent! Thank you, Casa Azul! Keep doing what you’re doing! The service we received today was awful. We've had a wonderful waitress three times in a row, but this time not so much. Took forever to get drinks, normally we get my son nachos off the kids menu and we ask if it would be okay to add beef. Never been a problem. Was a huge problem apparently this time! Three people coming out to ask what we wanted and demanding which waitress let us add beef to his nachos. They said he would receive adult nachos and he could just take it home. We walked out. There's no reason for that treatment...
