Happy Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Mount Laurel Township

I began coming here years ago when my previous favorite spot closed down. I have loved it since. The lunch menu until 3pm comes in clutch. Delivery time usually takes, during off-peak hours, like, 20 minutes to a half hour.

This isn't a place to take a date or anything, seeing as the interior is very robust and bare, but it's surely good for a quick lunch break, or for take-out/delivery. They're dependable to be open on Christian holidays, too, making for a great "Jewish Christmas" spot.

I've seen a lot of negative reviews about this place, which is confusing; I've never had a negative experience here as far as taste goes, aside from sometimes they confuse white rice and fried rice for orders (which might be a language barrier thing?). Just make sure you stress "WHITE rice" or "PORK FRIED rice" or whatever.

My favorite meal is boneless spare ribs and white rice with an eggroll. Other highlights include General Tso's Chicken and their Won Ton soup, which is always full of lots of dumplings, they're not one of those places to skimp you with mostly broth.

Overall, one of the few restaurants whose FOOD I genuinely give 10/10. And no, I'm not paid by these guys to come here and review this, haha, I just actually appreciate this...

Ladies beware!!!!!! Fo not order from this store. Their delivery drivers are creepy.

They have a driver that saves your information and hours later texts you asking are you single. I ordered through Grub Hub and rcvd it at 12:45 in the afternoon. I just said thank you the guy said you arevwelcome and that is it. 7 hours later i get a text from the same guy( Chinese restaurants have their own drivers) asking if i was single and he was at my house and found me attractive. I was immediately alarmed bc he saved my info and knows my address.

The kicker is I called GrubHub, and they said they couldn't call the restaurant but they would escalate. I called the restaurant and spoke to a woman and read her the text she said oh he might have got the wrong number...i told her i asked was it grub hub and he said yes. She kept making excuses for him and saying she will speak to him and saying he never did this before. I said that is creepy esp when he he only spoke two words to me. Not until i said i was going to write a review did she say that she would...

Food is subpar at best. Sadly it's one of the only delivery places in my area of work. They obviously cater to a clientele that has never had vegetables in their food, as there are never any in the fried rice or noddle dishes (real Chinese food bread and butter dishes). I don't think they would eat their own food and why should we? They've also recently added "Pad Thai" to the menu. Just don't do it. I've had better pad Thai made by Swedish hippies out of a VW van on dead tour. This was a flavorless pile of noodles with some hot spice added, some over cooked shrimp, 1 egg, and barely an onion in site. I mean come one I know it's a fast food Chinese place, but this dish is a simple one with just a few ingredients most american kitchens (let alone Asian kitchens) have in them. Step it up Happy Garden, you could be so good. There's no reason to be lazy with your food. People will be thankful and I for one will start to order...
