Blues Coastal Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

I had the opportunity to visit Blue's today (8/2/2023) for lunch. It had been a while since I had been there but heard that there was new ownership and thought I'd check it out.

The first thing I noticed when going in was how clean it smelled and felt (tables/chairs). There was classic rock playing during our lunch, but it was at a comfortable volume not to inhibit conversation.

The menus were updated since I was last there and Elliot, who greeted us at the door when we arrived, mentioned that they had made and effort to remove items from the menu that came from a can or freezer to focus on in-house, freshly made offerings.

We were quickly greeted at our table and looked through the new menu. We ordered a Smashburger and the buffalo chicken sandwich. Both came out hot and really good.

If I could give this place a zero I would! I was really unimpressed! My mom and I were starving and went there after getting our nails done next door! This isn’t worth the time or the money!!!!! We waited at least an hour for our appetizer it wasn’t anything special, it was potato skins they were not worth it! We were expecting our dinner to come out right after we waited another half hour to 45 mins for our dinner! I had to send mine back due to an allergy I finally got another and it wasn’t amazing but it was alright! The worst part about the entire thing was that as soon as you walk in the owner or someone who works there was using the bar as a hang out for his friends! It was ridiculous him and his friends were all drinking, talking, playing games as soon as you walked in! It was very unprofessional!!!!!! Not impressed. Completely under staffed. Honestly felt sorry for waitresses. Those ladies ran ragged to say the least. Waited over an hour for food to arrive to realize it was completely wrong. When did honey BBQ become a dry rub? (ordered HOT, lucky to classify mild), second order was for mild Teriyaki for my daughter and I’m pretty sure you could light the napkins on fire they were so spicy. Wife ordered BLT and literally got a single strip of bacon on the entire sandwich. Had a party of 4 but had beverages for 7?!? (They credited that). Owner really needs to hire additional staff or step up and help when they are buried. Great place if you plan to drink, be rowdy BUT if your looking for decent food an accurate order and something family friendly I would recommend someplace else. Will not be returning...
