Great atmosphere as far as decorations, but food was HORRIBLE! Be prepared for a TON of grease!!
My daughter ordered the burrias, expecting them to be as good as Panchos Tacos (they were NOT!). They were completely grease filled & flapped around like a piece of rubber (the dip for the burrias had so much grease in it you could see it right on top of the dip for them!).
Her best friend ordered the ranch chipotle tacos. She could only eat about 1/2 of one, as she needed sour cream. I had to get up and go ask for sour cream from another employee that was sitting on the customer side of the bar. The sour cream looked funny and she said tasted funny. The guacamole that came in a small dish with her plate was gross as well (worse tasting guac we’ve ever tasted in our opinion).
I ordered the chicken quesadilla, expecting it to be like Fiesta Mexicana’s (it WAS NOT!). The chicken quesadilla was COMPLETELY grease saturated along with the wooden serving plank it came on and tasted disgusting (I could only eat about 1/2 of one piece).
We couldn’t eat our food at all!
Chips & salsa were complimentary. The girls asked for queso to dip their chips in (came in a SMALL dish) and then the waitress brought another basket (after we asked for more) along with salsa & another SMALL dish of queso - was charged $5.99 for EACH little tiny bowls of queso!
The waitress only came over ONCE to check on us and that was about 30 minutes AFTER we got our food and us sitting there TRYING to eat the food & get the grease off of it with napkins (fyi - that did NOT help!). I should have taken pictures of all the grease lodged food & napkins we went through to try to get it off.
There were no other customers at the time we were there. There was another couple that DID come in as we were waiting for our check, they chose to eat out back, which is outside. We never did get our check. I had to go up to the employee (which was still sitting on the customer side of the bar) to say we were ready to pay.
They asked if everything was ok and asked if we needed boxes, (I said no thank you). I then proceeded to tell her our complaints/problems with our food (we try not to complain at restaurants because we’re ALL HUMAN! But come on now!!).
I was then handed a check with numbers stapled to it for our meals. $79.92 for THREE to have a meal at this restaurant that we COULD NOT EAT!! They didn’t offer any reduction in the bill, didn’t offer ANYTHING - “no I’m so sorry”; “would you like a gift card?”; NOTHING! $79.92 for THREE people (mind you two girls were 15 & 16 years old). Fiesta Mexicana we could have eaten for about $40-$50 and ENJOYED our meals!!
We couldn’t get all the grease off of our hands! We had to come home and wash our hands with Dawn dish soap!!
1 star for decorations, other than that we do NOT recommend this restaurant or those plates of food. I wouldn’t even want to see what other plates of food would have...
Read moreI love Mexican food and was glad to be trying somewhere new to me! Lola's has a large selection of drinks from the bar available that all look wonderful. I couldn't bring myself to pay 17 bux for a beverage. Also it should be noted that all beverages are in a bottle or can they have no cups with fountain drinks so bring a water or you buy a bottle water. I ordered a burrito and the came out saying they ran out of chicken. So I got steak. It was really huge and delicious! The green verde sauce on the side is not over powering or too strong but a good addition to the burrito. Fresh Chips and salsa came to the table as we were seating I love that! The servers speak Spanish so if you are bilingual that will come in handy. It isn't a problem by any means they are sweet, pleasant and were able to get the orders in. We also had empanadas, and Lola's special. We were happy with everything we ate. The tables are SMALL so if you are large you may not be too comfy with more than 2 at your table. I went with my 2 sisters and it was a nice place for conversation. No really loud music, happy vibrant decor. I would love to come back once the weather is good and enjoy the...
Read moreThis was our first time in and OMG!! First the atmosphere is great. It's inviting, and while yes, it's a restaurant, it feels quaint... almost homey. The staff are amazing and a hoot! They bring it to life... They care about the customer and the quality of food, and I felt treated it like an experience, not just having lunch. For example, I was facing away from the bar, but I was turned around in my seat as the show on that TV was more interesting (It was American Ninja Warrior) the guy (don't know ow his name) changed the channel making it easier to watch from my seat...without asking. I was impressed. Now for the reason going the food. It was fresh and delicious. The care taken in preparation, and delivery to our table was obvious. The humor was there tooo..the almost "trip" and fall with the food just added to the experience. We were treated to an amazing beverage...pineapple Fresca! It was delicious. A side note I had the Gringas and the portions are huge...delicious was an understatement. The Mexican Street corn dip was delicious. Donyourself a favor and stop in at Lola's for awesome food with...
