We stopped to Skipper's for the first and last time yesterday. When the waiter very rudely stated (without asking if there was a valid medical reason) to my sister "You have masks? You have to wear a mask in here!! We won't be fined and shutdown because of you!" The very valid medical reason is ASTHMA!! The mandate specifically states asthma patients do NOT have to wear a mask. Had he asked or even given us a chance to explain, we would have gladly informed him of her severe asthma but he didn't. He treated us like we were deliberately trying to cause them to be shutdown when it was a valid medical reason for her not to have on a mask. On top of his extremely rude treatment they had teens and an adult working food prep WITHOUT masks on! Plus the one teen would also come and bus the tables all without a mask. Other customers came in without a mask without a valid medical reason because they said so and that was fine. He seated them and was very nice to them. We will NOT be back again!!!!! My sister's asthma is severe and something she has suffered with all her life. We have never been treated so rudely at any place in our lives! I wear a mask at work 8 plus hours a day so I always have one and am compliant with the Governor's mandate. I believe the Health Dept needs to be made aware of the employees without masks. The food was okay but definitely not top quality. I eat and work in MH all the time so I am not a tourist. Definitely will NOT be back there nor recommend them to anyone!!!! After I posted the review I received the...

I'm really unsure how this restaurant has such a high review. Everything that was made was clearly frozen and reheated except maybe the gravy, eggs, and toast. I can do that myself, if you can't cook better than me you have no business being in business. My wife enjoyed her scramble and the baby girls seemed to eat alright but my omelet was a travesty. I'll give the waitress the benefit of the doubt, but she was running around all over the place. She couldn't finish one task before moving on. Waited for 5 minutes to eat my omelet because she helped everyone else out on the way back to getting my salsa. Prices seemed alright. But just know going in there I didn't see anything 100% homemade. Oh yes, and the kraft American cheese they used in everything, shredded cheese isn't that much more expensive to give people something decent to eat.

To sum it up, nothing stood out, will never...

I've met a lot of friendly folks in the short day I have been in Mountain Home. Been a blessing and it continued to be the same when I went looking for a restaurant. I decided on Skipper's and drove here, I met a nice lady in the parking lot. I ended up meeting her again as I came in the front door. It was Sandy :-) She was kind enough to find me a table with an outlet. Again, someone going out of their way to be friendly. Time to eat.... Nice easy-to-go-through menu. I opted for the grilled catfish. So good! Sherry kept my coffee cup topped off and wow...does she bounce from table to table! This is quite a busy place. A lot of Regulars. So popular that it stayed at least 3/4 full the whole time I was there. Wanted to let others sit down so am gonna leave, but darn likeable place for sure. Did I mention I had the banana pie? Dang! Good Food! Thankyou Sandy. Wonderful stop here...

I'm not big on fried catfish, but they had plenty of other options on the menu. I was impressed when my stuffed tomato came out, not what I was expecting. The rest of my table had broasted chicken and loved it. Although one plate of chicken had a smaller thigh, but the waitress brought out another piece to make up for it. We'll be back!
