Smokin' Sam's BBQ & Grill — Restaurant in Mountain View

Stopped here on a road trip to avoid typical "fast food" places and was so glad we chose this place! The quality of the food, the friendliness of the staff, and the price just blew us away! Extremely friendly staff and excellent fresh home cooked bbq! The brisket was perfectly seasoned, smoked, and sauced! My husband got a brisket bowl and I got just some brisket without sides (yes they will accommodate a weird request like this) but they also sell their meats in sandwich, plate, and per pound. The burger was fresh and juicy and the size of the burger was huge for only 6$ - all the staff was so polite you felt like you were with friends/neighbors, it was so great to see the husband and wife owners come out and chat with the regulars while there were no orders needing to be taken. They also sell ice cream and fried pies! We got the apple fried pie and it was packed with delicious gooey apple filling but served chilled which was great on a hot day when you don't want ice cream melting on you. Can't wait to go back through the area to support such an outstanding local business. Forget fast food - support local people who cook with their heart and don't empty...

My only complaint is that I have not tried this place sooner. We don't get to come down here as often as we would like to but when we have come down we usually drive right past this place. Shame on us! We stopped in today for lunch and were so glad we did. With the extensive menu this is a place you could visit for lunch and dinner have have an entirely different meal. Cannot wait to try something else on the menu the next time I get the chance. Please do what you can to support this business so they stay around for a long time. Hungry, pregnant wife here! Double bacon burger with jalapenos and all the fixings, it was juicy, fresh, and cheesy goodness! You can tell a place has good food if the burgers line up well. First time eating at this little tucked away bbq joint, definitely isn't the last. If you're traveling through, don't settle for less than mediocre sonic (or dare I say McDonald's), this place deserves the support way more. Service was amazing, made me feel right at home, and the food matched just that! They definitely smothered the burger with love. Happy pregnant woman means it's a good...
