Great launch in a familiar location.
King Noodle is in the old Pho location across from Redstone and Publix on the end. Parking is the same as it was.
Clean and cool inside. Some places have music - which is nice. But it (the choice of music/mix) - as simple as it is can be a little not-so-kid friendly with the lyrics that can sneak through. Oh! And it has a ceiling (unless I was hallucinating for lack of food). Have you ever noticed how good lunch tastes if you had an early AM and skipped breakfast? No? Just me? OK, so some of Murfreesboro's older buildings do. But nowadays, the trend is paint the ceiling black with exposed bar joists and ductwork. Who cleans and dusts that blacked-out space above my head and food?
Fantastic Spring Rolls and the ginger stir fry was delicious. I perceived a tad bit of salt in that particular dish - and I learned something. Tom Yum there and Tom Kha differ by more than lemongrass. They don't add coconut cream or milk in Tom Yum.
I love the menus. I do hope at some point they expand and add some teaser pictures of sample dishes, but as is super simple, well contrasting and easy to read font and size.
They do something I also like, if you pay in cash, they don't have to pay the CC service percentage so the sign says - if I understand it - if they don't have to pay it, you don't have to pay it either. I kinda like that compared to just building it in on every transaction - or worse - that annoying "You must buy _ dollars worth to use your check card." that so many places do.
Each place is unique as the people who create dishes. The name of items may be the same but the products differ with the personality of the chef. I did give full 5ā and even the Ginger Stir fry deserves 5 as well. It's just that I ordered Cashew stir-fry.
Lol, not a big thing - we are all busy with bunch of things spinning in our heads. Momma and taught me to eat what's put in front of me and be grateful. It really wasn't a big deal. Oh, one warning, the 1 - 5 scale, lean a little light your first try. In my mind, they are spot on - on what a "3" should be. But, I have been eating so much "baby Thai" latey it's difficult to know what a number 3 is. I want to try thier Massaman curry.
They really make a great Spring Roll. And, you can get vegetable only rolls if that's your thing. In fact, I think most things if they don't have a meat based soup/stock are available meatless. Ask to be sure.
I really enjoyed lunch today. Please stop by and give them a try. I feel like they will appreciate...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHavenāt even received my food yet. However based off the service of just picking up food. Iām not sure if they are understaffed or what but Iāve been sitting here for 40 mins no ETA, tables getting food in front of me, etc. Iāve seen two people drive off without getting their food. I hope the food is good because thatās the only thing that will save this review.
Update: Waited an hour still wasnāt told an ETA and ended up cancelling the food. I understand being understaffed, but waiting an hour for food is unacceptable at any restaurant regardless of staff. If itās too much, orders should be stopped to let the kitchen catch up to continue to keep customers happy. The staff tried to excuse the inconsistencies of the restaurant instead of trying to resolve...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered take out the restaurant was clean and service was good, but letās talk about the prices and the portions. I ordered the combo pho and was severely lacking on meat. The basil fried rice was good but Iāve had better. Iām new to eating Thai food but very dissatisfied with the food and cost here just for those two items it was almost $40. Called to the restaurant thinking they left my chicken out of my pho order and he says we donāt put chicken in the combo phoā¦. Well you should. Also received two very small crab sticks which I didnāt ask for and wished it would have been chicken. Anyhow lesson learned I guess thatās what happens when you cheat on your number one. Iām so sorry Pad Thai⦠take me back...
