Ate at Hop Hound Brew in Murray today for the first time and I will not be back. Got here around 11:35 and was excited to see the brunch menu. My favorite all time food is eggs Benedict. The picture online had me drooling! I couldn’t wait to get it.
When it arrived, I had 1/2 slice of bacon on each piece, a slice of tomato that was the size of a quarter, and an egg on each piece that barely covered the English muffin. And one of the eggs was hard boiled instead of runny like normal.
Got the waitress to bring me some more bacon but upon closer inspection, I realized there was barely any Hollandaise sauce and no chives on top. I asked to leave the lettuce off, but was sorely disappointed in what I got. It was pitiful looking and I realize that there was only 10 minutes left to brunch by the time our food came out, but it should have looked more like the photo below which is what they bragged about!
I told our waitress I would just order something else since I was so disappointed in it.
Well then — the manager comes over and she was already on the defense I guess. I explained to her like I did the waitress, that what I got looked nothing like the picture.
You could tell she was getting huffy with me and basically told me it didn’t look like the picture because I asked to leave the lettuce off. I was like no— that’s not it. It has almost no sauce and no chives on top and literally no bacon on it.
So in a huff she says — well brunch is over now so….
At this point I’m like, never mind. I’ll just order something else, so she snatches my plate up in a huff and walks off.
So I said forget it. We paid for what we ate and we left. Won’t make that mistake again.

Read moreWhen it first opened, it was amazing. Now, we can officially say we would rather go to Mr. B's then go here again - which is kind of sad. It is half way cheaper, we get better service (somehow), and they aren't out of everything every time we go. I just want to warn you, I still love this place- they just broke my heart with how far they have fallen. Some of the waitresses here are incredible, however, there aren't many on deck which is terrible for the waitresses on a busy night. I feel terrible for them. Not all are customer friendly though, we had this waitress that had an attitude and when we said we were leaving after being ignored for 45 minutes and then our order being taken, she huffed and walked away. Plus, the bartender is not exactly friendly if you are a regular customer. We have given this place multiple chances- we said we would never go again and we did. We are still disappointed. Dry expensive food, and they never have anything that you wanted originally. Go somewhere else before you fall in love with it, and then get your heart shattered. I hope they do great though, I hear they are moving to a new building (congrats y'all!). We may go back if we hear that they are doing better with stock, have more kind waitresses, and have...
Read moreWhat an opportunity on the verge of missed opportunity. Great menu, generally done well. However, customer service/experience is a complete whiff. The atmosphere is good, could be improved. A bit noisy. There is a sports bar vibe, however 8 tv's on the wall. 5 are off, 2 have Roku screen savers going, one has Bob Ross painting.....buzz kill. The staff is totally lost. The host can't do her job, for wiping tables, when the bus person could be doing that. The waitresses do one task at a time, instead of being able to multitask, which turns into a LONG wait for drinks, orders, needs, food, etc. Total time for getting 3 sandwiches and a couple drinks - 2 hours 15 min. Unacceptable. Totally frustrating eating experience, with no personality from wait staff, feeling like no one "sees" what the customer needs. Management needs to take personal responsibility in teaching customer service and to get a good flow going and understanding what their customers want out of establishment such as this. Icing on the cake, I get my bill for $53, when waitress returns for me to sign, bill total was rang up as $123. Glad I was at least paying attention.
