Since my husband and I discovered Coney Land on DoorDash a couple of months ago, we've ordered from there a few times each week. Granted, their prices (on many items) are a tad high for an 'ice cream stand' but you can't beat the variety, and the quality is pretty decent. They have smelt, shrimp, hot dogs, chicken, burgers, deep fried Oreos, ice cream (Hudsonville scoopable, Flavor-Burst, and 'regular' soft serve), slushes, and SO MUCH MORE.
I fell in love with their homemade sloppy joes; they are VERY close to the recipe I used to make and, since I am disabled and can't cook anymore, I am thrilled to have found such similar ones, close to home. Another item I love is the Dole Whip, which is a frozen, non-dairy dessert (sorbet) and, to the best of my knowledge, it used to be sold only at Disney parks. They always have 2 flavors available (plus, twist) at any time. One flavor is (always) pineapple, and the second flavor changes (I believe) weekly. The flavors are raspberry, pomegranate, strawberry, orange, cherry, and lime. The lime, orange, and cherry are my favorites.
My husband's favorite items are the hamburger, Polish sausage, and corn dogs.. He's not as adventurous as I, so those are the only things he's tried. :-)
If you're looking for a fast food location with a HUGE variety, give Coney Land a try. You're bound to fine SOMETHING...
Read moreThis place is a gem. Their food is an interesting mix of in-house homemade and food-service bagged/boxed -- but the "good" box/bag, if that makes sense. For instance the pulled pork is made in-house, but the cheese fries are cheap squeeze-cheese....but both delicious. We rolled in and got dinner for five, and between us tried: kraut dog, coney dog, BBQ pork sandwich, wet burrito, Jalapeno poppers, cheese fries, cheese curds, seasoned fries and fried mushrooms. Believe it or not...all good. Special callout to the burrito, which very much reminded me of Taco Bell...back when they used to be good. (I mean it as a compliment if you're one of those "I don't EAT...at Taco BELL." (eww face) people.)
We also got dessert, and my oldest daughter was in heaven because they have Flavor Burst soft-serve. They also have soft-serve in NINE FLAVORS. I've never seen that before. I had a chocolate malted and they were generous with the malt.
In summary, all five of us were happy with our meals and desserts, and that just doesn't happen often in our family. ...
Read moreI have been coming here for ice cream since I was a young kid, and its always been my favorite. Back when the business was sold my family was worried that any new owners might squander the quality and charm of the old Coney Land, or that it may have been bought out by a big name ice cream chain. Losing the drive thru window would have been a disaster...
Boy am I glad none of that came true. Coney Land not only kept its small business identity, but it even seems to have been molded into something else unique by the new owners. It's been a long time since the switch, but if I remember correctly the menu was expanded, additions and improvements were made to the property, and the new employees are all patient, friendly, hard-working, and very generous. If Coney Land isn't family owned and run, they sure seem to have created their own family atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you WANT to tip!
Their prices are reasonable, their portions are huge, and their employees are fantastic! This is the best ice cream place around,...
