Great experience. Beautiful location. Fresh and rich ingredient. I love a good hile-in-the-wall restaurant. We were headed up to the forest and needed to find an affordable sandwich place on the way. We stopped here in, what I believe is, Naguabo. I had an opportunity to practice my Spanish while ordering lunch there and the servers were so patient. We ordered the tuna and pastrami sandwich on pan de agua (one of 2 options of bread). Pan de agua has a thicker texture (to me) similar to a baguette. The tuna sandwich (con ensalada aka lettuce & tomato) was really juicy, but the pastrami was more like a panini. I'd recommend getting it "con ensalada" next time. These 2 sandwiches lasted us nearly all day. My partner, who is of French Carribean descent, states that it was the best pastrami he's ever had.
For the solo travelers --- the restroom is on the outside of the restaurant in the back. My partner was with me this time and I had him walk back there with me, but there's a gate with a lock on it. That's where the restroom is and the kitchen staff are super sweet. Im a scary berry and would not have wanted to go alone, if I was in my solo travel bag.

Read moreWe have been coming to this bakery for years. We are a large family and everytime we visit our home in Naguabo this is our go to bakery. During our last visit in Feb 2025 we noticed a change in staff and ownership we were sad to not see our familiar faces but the owner was very nice. My husband visited today (Good Friday) and left extremely angry by the rudeness of an elderly woman that works the counter. He stated he felt the lack of customer service the day before but didn't put much attention to it since he had alot happening. As he walked in to pick up his order , the woman yelled " are u juan" (he called his order in) with a bakery full of people. She then proceeded to have him repeat his order to her speaking in a loud, rude tone. He still doesn't even know what the problem was.
I really hope the new owner filters out these employees that could only hurt his business. There are families that spend alot of money in...
