Claudette's Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Nantucket

Stopped in to pick up three sandwiches during a bike ride to Siasconset. Was a really long line just after noon on a Friday, but the line moved steadily and we got our sandwiches without too long of a wait. Not much room to move around when it is peak lunch time. There are a few tables on the deck with umbrellas, but we elected to walk the short distance to the beach and eat our sandwiches there. The unsweetened tea didn’t really have a great flavor and the lemonade was quite tart. The sandwiches were fantastic - large with fresh whole wheat bread, lots of fillings, and fresh toppings. We heard so many good things about Claudette and were excited to try it. We were appalled by the terrible service.. it was late on Monday afternoon and not a soul in line but we were screamed at to get off of the deck while looking at the menu. Claudette's is always the perfect stop, and the center of Sconset. Sandwiches are delicious - highly recommend the meatloaf sandwich, and for breakfast - the egg sandwiches and pastries are superb. I drive from town in the morning for the Kona coffee and whatever pastry they have left.
